Thread: Speed bias
everything in this game tilts to the favor of speed.
The faster you are the more stus effects you can do.
berserk gives +75 to any damage done.....to a pikeman this is +75 every 3 seconds and tka every one.....so it gives them +225 when we get +75.....no bad of a problem.
But what about our vibro enhancers.....
lets say you get one that is +10 to damage......if a pikeman has it on a weapon they will get +10 every 3 seconds, but if a TKA uses the same vibro enhancer on their weapon they get +10 every 1 second, making them get +30 in the time it would take us to do +10
it is for this reason i think that pikeman and any slow class shouldn't jsut do equall damage per second, but much more.
If we do 3X damage at 1/3 the speed it averages out damage wise.....but if you factor in all the benifits they get from speed(not to mention the fact that we suck all around) they again have the odds tipped in their fravor.
So i think when ever piekman get fixed the way they are supposed to be,we should do AT LEAST 4X damage at 1/3 the speed. just to account for our slowness. Giving us the ability to contribute withought taking the TKAs away. We would have to gauge everything accordingly
like....TKAs do .5X damage at .75X speed.(tkas strengths should not lie in doing damage or damage delt)
Fencers do 1X damge at 1X speed
Swordsman do 2.5X damage at 2X speed
and pikeman do 4X damage at 3X the speed
but i dunno, just an idea....what do you fellas think?

Basically this math translates into this:
You have a smaller weapon, you are faster because it weighs less, so you get more hits in. But these hits are generally weaker than with a heavier weapon
You have a heavier weapon (like a long vibro axe), you are slower because it weighs more, so you get less hits in. But these hits are generally much stronger than with a lighter weapon.
Basically polearms and 2 handed to more chunk damage (we do more damage at one time)
Basically TKA and 1 handed are more speed damage (they do little damage but because it's so fast, it adds up).
sweet. In the couple days with the 75% PvP nerf, I was actually equal to all them ranged people in DPS. Was worried. Glad they fixed that up fast. The 6 pikeman on my server were starting to come out and own everyone. Devs say this coming a mile away. Had to nerf us back into our place ![]()
Problem is with all these great ideas, they make to much sense. Devs can't do that. Remember when we tried to do /teach logic? it failed.
I'll ask about berserk. I don't think your damage numbers for the different classes are fair. We shouldn't be doing higher initial damage AND higher dps. Seems more balanced to do higher initial damage but a little lower dps.
