Thread: sick of complaints about pvp
Dude, get a clue. It's been stated numerous times by the devs that if we get within range, the oponent should die. The problem is getting within range.
But that doesnt work right now. Even if we get within range, we have to be lucky to win, and thats not the way it's supposed to work.
Learn to use your skills and surroundings. You will be suprised how dumb those "master ***insert non-melee profession here***" can be ![]()
Here is my biggest complaint about Pikeman and PvP.We do less damage than a master fencer, master TKA, and Master 2 Handed Swordsmen, but we have the worse to-hit on our weapons than any other class and are slower......can I beat a dead horse any harder? If they would go by strengths and weaknesses, then ours should be EXTENSIVE damage at the price of not being able to hit all of the time (I estimate about 10-20% miss rate at master with our top end weapon LVA) and lower speed. I would care a lot less about high HAM costs and missing quite a bit, if I felt the damage I dealt wasn't so utterly pathetic. The only time I see high numbers for damage from being a master pikeman is directly after a KD which puts dmg around 2-4k. That s about it. Nothing else spectacular. Maybe at a later date they will make it worthwhile, but for now, pikeman is all about the look and being a total underdog.
I have done3 friendly duels.1 against a master pikeman when I was a lower level in pikeman and 2 against a master heavy swordsman. Needless to say, I was 0/3. Pikeman mainly won because of their higher skill level, and the posture down took me offguard. Master Heavy Swordsman was a total smack down because of their mind bleed, and that they can actually hit for decent dmg in PvP. For the swordsman fight, I did switch from LVA to VL, but the end results were still the same.

I'm a Master Brawler, Master Creature Handler and on my Pikeman skills I'm at 4,2,4,3(aiming to become a master pikeman).
When I do PvP and I want to get in ranged I use my pets, I understand that some of our brawler brothers and sisters do not have creature handler xp but it helps. Since day one I have never used blasters and I refuse to use them. It has been hard to go up in my Brawler tree and specially on my Pike tree but is rewarding when you reach your goals. I'm a tank right now when I do PvP, I fought a Master Commando over the weekend and it was a great fight, some of you might think he won but I was able to put him out, he started running and I used my 3 Grand Wrix to slow him down(gotta love those cats), when I got close enough I did sweep and then warcry2, stunt2 and intimidate2, after that I bled him and he was finished. We did 5 rounds and I was able to win 3 out of the 5. On the 2 rounds that he won, hetried to DB me my pets took care of him.
For those who like blasters go ahead and adopt a profession that offer blasters but for me I'll stay a truly brawler fighitng with my pets in the inside.
