Thread: AP and damage type Power-Ups
Hello Swordsmen,
I'm a Fencer and have been pushing for power-ups that increase a melee weapons's AP or changes the damage type. Sense this would effect all melee professions I though I should get you thoughs, and hopefully get your support.
The current melee power-ups are very usefull but are not realistic and don't have a Star Wars feel to me. But imagine putting a cylinder into the hilt of your sword the electrifies the blade, or super heats the blade when it sences the sword is being used for an attack. These power-ups would do normal power-up bonus to range, speed damage, etc on top of the AP or damage type change.
Here is a list of the melee power-ups I like to see:
Vibropower-up (Plus 1 levelArmor Piercing)
Heat power-up (changes Kinetic damage to Heat damage)
Cold power-up (changes Kinetic damage tocold damage)
Electrical power-up (changes Kinetic damage toelectical damage)
Acid power-up (Maybe limited to smaller blade weapons like daggers and Vibroblades)
Poision power-up (a smuggler made Power-up?)

I worry that you may start a chain reaction with the ranged classes asking for the same types of amenities.

I would not worry about that because range classes allready have a great selection of different damage type weapons. In fact I think each class has every damage type there is. (I'm not a 100% sure on that thou)
My only problem with this is lack of certification. Certs are currently used to pace the acquisition of weapon abilities. Perhaps making an omni-weapon, which takes different power ups, around box IV would do the trick.
