Thread: Swimming in problems
Hey, a different gripe for a change of pace.
So, there I was fighting a stormtrooper, and doing quite well, till he jumped into the river and started swimming. Now, through some inane sense of logic, he can fire his blaster, over his shoulder, while swimming. I, however cannot fight at all while swimming. It is annoying enough to have to chase the guy all over the planet, since he runs and guns, but now I have to stand on the shore, taking his cheap shots, while he floats about, encased in armor from head to toe. The logic escapes me.
are you serious?
man thats lame ill have to try that out....![]()
It's to prevent the strategy of luring them out into the water and then standing on an island and shooting them to death in total safety. Not that it was ever a valid strategy for melee anyway.

I did once have a duel with a carbineer who immediately jumped in the river, apparently believing he too had the ability to shoot while swimming. He didn't, and only lasted about 10 seconds when we both reached the opposite shore. At least I can win the duels based on REALLY bad strategies.
yep, same thing happened to me with a stormtrooper. Actually, I think it has happened a few times, I seem to remember thinking "Oh **edit** he's going to start swimming and shooting," last time. Why npcs can shoot while swimming is beyond me. Granted, I have a short character who swims while other people walk, but these guys had the icons for swimming next to their names and HAM bars.
And yes, the only option is to run away and hope he follows.
haha! I remember I used that strategy a lot to take out high end creatures with my blastmonkey char on Ahazi a while back. Just get them on the other side of the pond and you were set.. easy 5-6 k expe... Oh well, guess water "bug" are working as intended as always
