Greetings to all the Pikeman!

A disheartning post from a Pikeman denouncing Fencers across the board was recently placed on our forum. While I realise there is always going to be a little competition between professions, the nature of this post was not appropriate, and it was uncharacteristic with what I have come to expect from the noble Pikeman here. However, I did not come here to complain, or to denounce Pikeman in any fashion. What I would like to do is to makecertain youare aware of my stance (and the Fencer stance) towards Pikeman.

First off, any Pikeman that has stuck it out this far, I salute you! I was a Fencer from the first days and remember the struggles that plagued us. The recent changes have made being a Fencer more enjoyable, and I look forward to the rest of our issues being handled. I'm sure that's no revelation.

What might surprize you is that I also fully support the Pikeman profession, and did even before this recent round of boosts. I firmly back all of the issues the Pikeman Correspondent brings forth, and would be very pleased to see them all addressed quickly and to your complete satisfaction. I know about your accuracy issues, your HAM costs, your Block-reporting-as-Counterattack glitch, your lower Toughness, your lack of unique utilties, and many others, and I am empathetic to your cause.

Please believe me when I say that I whole-heartedly wish to see Pikeman get all of these fixed. When you do get them fixed, I will be happy for you and you will see my /cheers on this board for you. Even if the fixes places your strength over that of Fencers, you will not hear a cry of "nerf" from me. I'm not the only Fencer that feels this way. Any Fencer that was around before the bandwagoners jumped us remembers what times were like before. Fencers and Pikeman were both in the same sinking boat, just at opposite ends.

I do not support any flames that pop up against Pikeman, even within our own Forum. It's not only lame, but unprofessional and doesn't help anyone. I certainly do not condone Fencers going to other professions forums and slandering them. I regret that occasionally some (not all) of these new Bandwagoners and HolocronHoppers just don't have the true Fencer spirit, and do some incredibly stupid stuff. I regret any malicious posts they might troll here, and humbly apologize for their words. Know that any "garbage" they post does not reflect the attitude of the Fencer profession as awhole, and certainly does not reflect mine. If it's any consolation, both of these types of pseudo-Fencers will eventuallymove on. The HoloconHoppers will complete Fencer and move on to rape another profession, and the Bandwagoners will loose their interest when Dodge from Pistoleer is made unstackable.

In summary, I hope that we can support each other and stand together, as we should. I want to be able to be an ally to your Correspondent, and find way to support his crusade to get Pikeman to where they rightfully should be. You are our melee-brethren, and as such I would like us both to act accordingly.

I think I know what post you were referring to. If I am correct, the troll post started as something like "Fencers are garbage" or some such silliness & his name was Pikeman007. If it is that guy, he just registered today & has a total of 2 posts to his credit.

I think there are quite a few people that would agree, He is not representative of any community (Let alone Pikeman) .

I would say to pay him no mind. If he were to persist, have him come out to your serverso that you may beat him a lesson.

While I weas at it, I thought it might not hurt to make sure you knew where I stood with regard to your profession and needs, and to let you know you have an ally.

Great post man! Well done my friend! I lose to fencers in duels because of no toughness, my worst duel was against a fencer. I urger anyone who doesnt believe in Pikeman weakness or anything unsure to become a Pike.. I did this to understand Teras Kasi... theres hype bout pikeman for a reason lol

Ohh and dont forgot often ppl who claim to be from a particular forum often lie to brng stuf against a given profession !

yea i hate anti-profession posts IE anything crying out nerf heh. I'd much rather construct creative post to make non-working professions better. I play a borked and a working well profession so I know how it swings both ways.

(Rifleman is my other profession, wow its cake compared to pike lol)

I just tried to catch that thread, but nothing there from the original poster... wasthis warrior-pikeman007deleted or something? I will not comment on the post since I did not get the chance to read the whole thing, or at leastthe threadseemed broken up to me when I tried toread it. I got the impression that no good came out of it,except thatboth sides saved faces in the end.

As always, Dynastar had an most excellent response to this warrior-whiner007: "I hope to God he quits then. I don't want that retard representing myself or any other Pikemen". Outstanding Dynastar!

I just had an awesome duel tonite with a fencer. The whole thing must have lasted about 5 minutes and consisted of several bleeds, many heals on both parts (I'm almost master doc as well) and much taking of drugs to boost my mind.

Have to say it was a great epic battle which I won in the end only because I think my doc skills were a bit better at healing my wounds faster then the other guy. Much respect to fencers. Unlike the many blastmonkeys I've had to kill because they were too stupid to run away.

Nice to know we kinda have two correspondents on our side - since there are only about 20 Pikemen who CHOSE to be Pikemen

And the "bandwagoner's losing interest when the dodges don't stack and holocron hoppers moving on to rape another profession" sentence was too funny Powergamers suck (talking to you bandwagoners) and Holocron Hunters are... well, hooked to a gimmickthat was created bySOE to keep players playing, I think.

I hope that a nasty rivalry doesn't develop between Fencers and TKA, because that seems to be where it's going... nobody gives Swordsmen or Pikemen any thought, so we're just like flies on the wall hehe... ~J

I like fencers there fun to work with and give me hope that some day pikeman will be cool too. I figure 2 melees down 2 to go. I figure hammerman will get dev love first but hey better late than never. I figure the post was from a overly fed up pikeman or more than likely a forum troll. In case of the second just try not to feed it and it should go away.
