Well the sad thing here is.. i was a master bh. I opened a holo and it said pikeman. So i gave it a shot... and guess what. No matter how horrible the accuracy is.. no matter how under par i am compared to other melee classes, i sure am having alot of fun.

Never before this whole holo ordeal have i been melee and theres just something more to it than ranged. Maybe its actual fear of losing a battle instead of fear of your tank falling over and losing vitality? Maybe its the adrenaline when you charge headlong into you opponents swinging at the air rapidly ?

Whatever it is i like it and ill never go back to ranged. I gave 2 of my remaining holos to ppl i thought deserved them and im raffling the other to my guild. Maybe once i master brawler and add some sort of defenses through a few other melee classes i can quit killng the masses of huurtons and actually seek out some worthy opponents.

Well i hate to say this but as former Master Bounty Hunter i can honestly say... Man i love pikeman. Now give me some lovin Devs

ive been trying to let go of pikeman for a while now, doesnt look like its gonna happen.

I wonder what is there in this uterly broken profession that holds so many ppl....

Former BH here myself.

I can tell you EXACTLY why you prefer melee over ranged.

It's because ranged combat consists of the following

1. kneel

2. send in pet to attack targets

3. shoot targets as pet tanks

4. if target aggro's you stand up spamming "/tellpet attack"

5. rinse/repeat for 3.5 million weapons xp.

BORING

Melee is so much more fun because YOU are the one fighting. It's so much more engaging than simply kneeling and watching laser bolts fly. You get combat animations, high damage speicials and you don't have to participate in pet wars!

I gave up my christmas holo after a long and hard attempt to consider beginning holo grinds....took about a week of hard 2-way talking to myself in that oh so insane manner, and finally I convinced myself to not do it.....I cant do it..I just can't...I love Master Brawler and Master Pikeman together so **edit** much.......

hehe the most fun i have gotten so far outta this class (holo hunter sorry, but i gotsta do what i gotsta do) is sending in my pet, realizing im going to gain aggro (no quiestion) and then runing around like a chicken with its head cut off away from a bol i should have never attacked, screamin OMG OMG OMG. ROFL. As commando i was doing exactically what the game told me to. /tellPet attack, /flameshot1, /attack, rinse repeat. Boy, what a switch. This class is truly involving, and im glad my holo told me to do it cuz i would have probably never chosen it. Not to mention, with all the running i'll be doing in the future, my ass should be in great shape by the time i hit master lol.

Yeah I too was a ranged addict. Dunno why. I was master gunfighter then master bounty hunter. Now I'm master carbineer / master swordsman. It's just awesome. Ranged seems pathetic to me now and half the time I forget I have ranged. The best thing about carbine - and I mean the best - is when a ranged fighter tries to kite me I just do a charge shot and knock them down, catch 'em and use domination or scalp slam. Aaah, I agree melee is just too fun.
