Hello everyone.

i just finished mastering Doctor today, because i wanted to work on some melee skills.

now i need to ask several questions about pikesman.

is polearm spin attack2 + polearm sweep2 combo good?

if i look at skills, it should be dizzy,stun + knockdown.

i was just curoius how they work.

and on pikesman tree, i can only go up to 3 trees.

i was wondering if 3033 is good enough.

or is other combo good?

please give me some tips =)

first congrads on pikeman its fun (plus youre on scylla)

now i need to ask several questions about pikesman.

is polearm spin attack2 + polearm sweep2 combo good?
well polearm sweep 2 hits harder but doesnt stun, having both isnt necessary, i use spin attack 2 more its got cool animation

if i look at skills, it should be dizzy,stun + knockdown.

yes

i was just curoius how they work.

our dizzy sucks lol

and on pikesman tree, i can only go up to 3 trees.

i was wondering if 3033 is good enough.

or is other combo good?

3033 is pretty good, personally i cant see less than master lol PH3 is great, but yea 3033 is pretty decent

please give me some tips =)

tip: use a standard lance until you reach novice at least

Let me get this straight... you want to dabble in Pikeman?

<laughter>

Okay, yeah, we do have area KD and area dizzy, but we have the combat effectiveness of a pre-nerf cowardly gurreck until master. Doctor will help the costs, but you'll be slow, low accuracyand low damage, I'm sorry to say, if you go with Pikeman.

Yuh, if you're not going to master pike you definitely need to pick up every bit of stat mods as you can get. Since the second branch only gives a few attacks which really aren't overly important, you're much better off getting those important speed and (INCREDIBLY) important accuracy.

But since i dont have enough skill points, i can master 2 skill trees only.

for example, 4400, 4040, 4004, etc etc.

so what would you pikesmans advice would be?

That is an interesting template, however have you thought about how much you really need the survey and harvesting skills? I have a masterDoctor/TKA on Ahazi with the scout 1-0-0-0 for terrain negotiation, and what do I do about resources you might ask? I buy them, because as a melee char you will no longer havecredproblems Getting masterpikeMan/Doctor could turn out to be more than rewardig for you

Now, if you still want to stick with the original plan of yours, I would suggest you get the 1-4-0-3 combination from the skilltree. That would leave you with some speed, both the bleeds(currently stackable) and the famous LegHit3.

good luck!

Dude.....Pikeman is just not something you can dabble in for kicks.....I mean seriously this profession is fun as hell.........but it's just not something to go up half on...............the most important thing you can do for dabbling is minimum 2/x/x/2, and from the looks of it you already know that................but really, Pikeman is not for dabbling..LOL...

At any proposed level you are still in danger of missing your targets about 40% of the time, un-optimized speed akaslow, Extremely low defense (And I stretch the word EXTREEEEEEME, because even at Master it's Extremely low), you will onlyhave half the moves available (I have almost every single pikeman move taking up my toolbar slots, maybe except for hit1 and other skills with lower numbers)

It's simply not really worth it............

1-3-0-4??? Are you mad? Not only do you not get the speed mod, but you waste 3 boxes on just skills when you could improve your defense. I suggest not putting anything into the second branch. Get at least 2 for speed and either 3 or 4 on accuracy (I forget if you get more acc mod on fourth box :/ ). Then distribute as you see fit.

If I was you, I'd at least try to get the bleeds and the first speed box. The bleeds have been the only thing keeping me sane so far (I'm 0/0/1/2 for what its worth and have been able to take (very slowly) Night Sister Stalkers although it relies on some other skills I have).

Stances:
first box = crap
second = +15 speed
third = area dizzy
forth = +15 speed

offense:
first box = leghit2
second = area attack 1
third = leghit3
forth = area dizzy (attack 2)

defense:
first box = +15 block, KD
second = +15 block, +5 melee/ranged, some sad defense vs mods
third = +15 block, area KD
forth = +15 block, +5 melee/ranged, some sad defense vs mods

support:
first box = bleed 1
second = +30 accuracy
third = bleed 2
forth = +30 accuracy

I'm personally counting down until I have support 3... being able to do 4k+ worth of bleeds is going to be nice.

What is the deal with block? Is it straight up broken or is it the dreaded "working as intended"? I was a pistoleer and dodged all the time, same with fencer. I have yet to block with a +40 mod and COB on. With 40 dodge in fencer and COB you dodge quite frequently. Does it just not tell you when you block something? Then again I've seen combat logs from fighting riflemen and they block perfectly fine.
