I currently have two characters on gorath. My original is a master rifleman/master doctor combo which I dont really wanna change because I like it so much. My second character is going to be master carbineer, ranger 0/0/4/0, creature handler 4/2/3/1, and novice medic. Essentially this is my character to play around with. I would really like to try a melee profession. Pikeman is the one I have chosen due to its rarity. (get tired of seeing fencers/TKM's all the time) Would a template of replacing master carbineer with master pikeman work out well? The pets I will be using once I complete the CH will have light armor and 30-60% kinetic resists so they will be decent tanks. Just wanted some opinions from you guys. Thanks!

Erm... get armor and dump your pets, as a pikeman you won't need them. They're nice to have but you can live without them. Pets are really for ranged fighters who have no way of tanking.
One last thing, if you do go for pikeman, don't settle for anything less than master, it's here when the true strength of the profession begins to shine. It shines so much most people would be blind. And yes you can hit a side of a barn then!
The pike dropping joke is getting old

Well, I do use 70%+ ubese all the time so will have the armor as well. I very much plan on mastering it. Right now I have 2 boxes left on Carbineer and I am simply not very impressed by it being spoiled with rifleman before. I do know that the grind will be a bit slow from what I have heard with pikeman but that aint a problem. I started rifleman on day 2 when everyone was bitching and complaining how long it took before everyone knew how good it really was.
