Forgive me if this is old news. I'm working on a pure melee template (pre-patch/non-holo idea) that'll give me the highest melee/ranged defense possible. While I was working on the pikeman defense tree last night I noticed I never blocked. But I did counterattack. I noticed later that I countered with my 2h weapons too.

I currently have 55 block (from pikeman) and 45 counter (from swordsman). Is it possible this is where the big goof is on these defense stats? Or was I just experiencing some other weird bug?

Block gets the "counterattack" message in your combat log. If you were fighting such that someone else could see your "counterattack" in their combat log, it would say "block." Also, block allows damage unlike dodge/counterattack.

Ah, ok. Thanks. I don't think I took any damage on those shots though. I'll have to pay more attention next time.

Does polearm counterattack work currently? If not is it going to ever work you think?

No, you don't. If you have read any post on block in this forum...Your combat log says that you "counterattack" but the logs of the people next to you correctly show that you "block." It's an error.
