ive never been one to buff everyday then fight...so ive always used low encum high kin ubese... now that i buff alot before fighting ive noticed im repairing my armor almost daily, and going through chest, helmet and legs within a week! now that i buff up, should comp be the way to go, i dont want to sink a fortune into comp armor if it degrades like ubese. Is comp the choice for a pikeman?

Unless you're fighting NPCs that use weapons that comp can protect you from it's not worth it. I use ubese whenever I fight creature mobs and comp for NPC/droid type mobs. You should still invest in a suit of 80/70 comp just in case you ever decide to take on those types of mobs.
