Pikeman Archive

After the KD nerf, I was like most of the otherpure Pikeman, meaning I was screwed. I couldn't solo, and I was worthless in a group. After days and days of sulking, and being pretty pitiful, I decided I had to either quit the game or come up with a new way of thinking. First off, I absolutley refuse to be a gunner, I'm not going tolet Sony win that easily. But I came to the conclusion that a pure pikeman is just not feasible with the current patches. Plain and simple is that we just can't take the hits. So I can came up with a plan that works pretty well for me and lets me have some fell of being a Pikeman, so I thought I would pass it on and maybe it would help someone else have some fun with the game. Now this plan is only for PvE and taking on a solo MOB.

First off I had to level to Master Brawler, to get Intimidate2. This is a must nowadays. Secondly, a friend of mine gave me a little rock beetle pet. Doesn't do much damage, but can take a lick. Now I can also use stimpak C's, and I'm a 2, 2,2,2 Pikemanwith a LVA.

I find a MOB that I can pull solo, and then have my pet attack to take the aggro for a bit. I start off using Intimidate2 til it lands. Then I hit it with the stun. By this time, it should have aggroed you, but its damage output is reduced to about 60 dmg. Now the following moves might have causedsome significant HAM costs, but you should be able to get off a heal then swing without using any specials to finish off the MOB. This plan has allowed me to take out some very big MOB's. For the bigger things I also hit it with ActionHit and then do the Leg chop move on it til it dies. This requires more healing and more downtime, so I avoid it if I can.

Hope this helps somebody put back a little more fun into the game that Sony seems to be trying to ruin. I hate having to resort to being a CH of sorts, but I do not see any relief for us in the future. I meant this thread to a constructive one that other players can use to help them out. If anyone else has a plan that is working for them, please post it.
