You have to read this. It does state that kd may be taken out all together but it also says that melee weapons may get increased range to make up for the inability to hit moving targets (so we will be able to hit moving targets now, though they said it may look a little weird). You just have to read it. For once, I actually believe this game will be balanced... and not just by nerfing everyone to the same low. This proposal sounds like a complete make over of all the combat classes.
Well if they are planning on working on a whole new combat system (which sounds promising) I can see why they don't bother with some of the fixes classes like ours need. They'd just be taking time to change and test code that will change anyway with a new combat system.
My only request is that they kick some arse and get this new system up and running soon so we can enjoy the game.

I not so sure that they are saying that they are going to remove KD altogether, It seems to me that they are just fixing it so people won't rely on it as a makeshift "tanking" ability, and instead give us better defenses. I don't know, tell me what you think.
Reading that post was the only positive thing about this game that I've witnessed since 9/4 Pike-Gimp Patch. I'm really hoping they can pull this off. It was nice/refreshing to see the Devs recongnize each of the professions individually as well as have some vision for each. I only hope they can implement these changes soon as I'm looking forward to having some fun again with my hairy Gimp Pikeman.
It was a little disheartening reading that the KD timer will remain in place. Im wondering if the Tank button will replace our Defensive Line KD. The changes will be great but it's senseless to have a skill tree dedicated to something that we can't use.
Anyway it was good to read that they are re-examining the entire combat system.

That is very encouraging news to me. The only question is how soon til it is implemented? It's always good to have a plan, but if this plan isn't until July next year, it really doesn't do us any good.
They can take their worthless /tank and do you know what with it.
They supposedly want us to be a tank, yet take away knockdown, and then instead of giving us passive abilities, give us a stupid command?

I took the part where they said that they will remove kd as a tanking move as a removal of kd all together. After relooking at that and many posts it sounds more like they are just keeping the kd timer in. But I could care less if they fix all the professions so that they are all good in their own way and balanced. Really, to me, the kd timer was more of the last straw than a real huge problem by itself. We weren't doing that great with what they have been doing to us (or not doing to us); then they take away our kd and make our strongest attack weaker... the only thing that made us good before that was kd and then we were no good. But if they fix the entire class andbalance out all the other professionsI wouldn't mind having the kd timer stay in place. We might actually be strong enough where it doesn't take a kd to kill a kreetle (ok, maybe a little over exagerated). I like the idea of us being strong and slow and fencer weaker but fast... that was how it was supposed to be in the first place anyways, right? I'm going to have to reread the proposal again 'cause I want to check if they said anything about our ham costs (i'm sure they did).
