The point blank, ideal, and max range modifiers don't make sense while using melee weapons. We have one range: point blank. The min/max/ideal is a good idea for the ranged combat system, but why was it carried over to melee?
If I power up my weapon with an accuracy enhancer, should it really matter if I'm standing at 3m or 4m?
Devs, do away with this system in melee please.

because there are reccomended ranges for ALL weapons. IE trying to spin a glaive at 1 ft from target is very innefective. Unfortunately, the numbers don't correspond to this, so my point, though valid, is moot in the current system.

There is fudging on distance in this game. It is IMPOSSIBLE to know that you are 1m away from someone. Due to the game mechanics, you could appear to be 0m away from your target (point blank), but actually be 3m (ideal) or 4m (max) or even 12m away (out of range).
The 0,3,4 ranges are a joke.
