I am an aspiring Pikeman, and when I make a new character, I figure out EXACTLY what I want to be, and then I go for it. Well, I chose Pikeman CH and anyting else I can dab into.

I fell in love with being pikeman, but I didn't know that it was this **edit**ed up. Im pissed cause after every fight, I have to sit down and rest, because out of the 20 or soswings I took at that flesh eatingchuba, only about3 hit. /sigh. I don't want to be like every person out there and pick up medic just to use stim B's. And goddammit, I shouldn't **edit**in have to. This game HEAVILYtries to force your style of gameplay into grouping style, but they sure don't make it **edit**ing easy to do that.

No one told me that the LVA had a **edit**ed up-55 modifier for every range. Now, since picking up the LVA I use a blank toolbar cause im afraid I might use a special move that I worked so hard on geting to. Im only an apprentice yet, since Pikeman is soBS to level in my opinion.

Im pissed with missing, I can live with mostly everything else,but having to be afraid to use any specials at all because you don't know if the special or the next few swings afterwards is going to hit is just rediculous. Hell I damm near leaped out of my seat in joy when hit something 3 times in a row and lived to tell about it!.

Polearm spin costs me 203......wait..203? I only have 900 on action and health!.....**edit** is wrong with you people?!?...Is it really right to take *about* 1/4 of your life just to use a brawler special?!?..... /sigh. I might not think of this as bad if I knew it will hit ATLEAST half the time.

Simple dont use lva B4 having Pole suppoirt II. and then b4 use it always stun ur target.

For the ham cost buy pixie and group with a medic.

it gets better in time, at master pikeman, i wear a full suit of composite, minus the helm, and use LVA with regular attack.......i can solo gnarled and bull rancors from dath and things like that.....specials are just that "specials".....not every hit moves

Please forgive me if you know this already, but I spent a good month really killing myself with special move HAM costs before figuring this out.

For sure our special move costs are very, very high, but I found that migrating my stats a good bit did help. Since the secondary attribute for any pool (strength for the health pool, quickness for the action pool, focus for mind) control efficiency and how much specials cost you, I sacrificed regen and pool size some to get the secondary stats as high as I could. It did help cut the costs of specials some. Food helps too.

It does get a little better, I usually hit my targets with a stun followed by our bleed attack and hope for the best.

But yeah, accuracy on ourhigh end weaponsbites and I agree wholeheartedly that medic and/or CH should not be prerequisites to surviving our own weapons.

Hope they fix us up soon, because I like polearms and melee so much more than ranged, and although I have some CH and a nice pet it just isn't fun for me hanging back and watchingmy pet do the work. For now I'm hitting myself with stim D's and hoping the accuracy gods like me so I don't have to watch the remainder of the fightfrom a horizontal position.

pike has a bleed attack? thats new news to me.

yup, it is action hit, just looked (sorry, I usually just remember it's F4 on my hotkeys).

I'm using a LVA at novice (0011) andI'm certainly not anywhere near missing 17/20.. Does the bonus accuracy from being master brawler help me that much? I'm also curious how to manage to hit a flesh eating chuba 3 times with a LVA - I'll almost always kill one on the first shot, are you using a looted LVA or a crafted one?

aspiring pikeman=brawler, its a mistake that bralwers are allowed to useLVA in the first place, but you really shouldnt use it, lances are much much better.

My suggestion to you is to use the Vibro Lance right now I find that I do comparable damage more often with taking less from my HAM pool.

Btw: It's no fun being like everyone else, I've been polearms since day one (as well as weaponsmith which I've been leveling until I just mastered it a few days ago) and it's a great challenge and I'm unique.

There everyhit moves for every other profession except us.

And I don't believe for a MICROSECOND that you fight bull rancors without a support skill, like CH or Doctor. I have a full suit of sliced composite, INCLUDING helmet, and I simply miss too much with an LVA to do anything but die. At Master we still have -40+.

It's posts like this that keep our profession ghimped.

If I weren't a wookiee, the only piece of armor I'd wear would be the helm. What's your reasoning for full suit minus helm?
