Hi all,

It friday, time for speculation and wishing.

The pikeman finds himself surrounded by angry Mobs (as usual, they seem to really dislike sticks). All hope is lost, attacks from all sides. HAM dropping faster than a special with a LVA. What to do? (besides clone)

Special Move: The Hail Mary

Pikeman grabs the weapon by the end and begins to spin like a tornado. Not just one sissy spin, but over and over, faster and faster. Targets drop like cornstalks before the reaper. The cost: total exhaustion, like after the burst run and/or after a rez. Cant move, just lie there, or sit. Hopefully you brought some friends. Not a move to be spammed.

New Weapon: The Scythe (ya, I know its already a weapon for the swordies, but shush for a minute)

A shorter and more compact weapon. A long blade forms a circle around the pikeman, almost all the way around. Can only be used for spinning moves (like the newly introduced Hail Mary). No good for poking. The curve of the blade allows for easy slashing from target to target, unlike a pole which could get hung up. A cool version of a weed wacker.

Just because: The Baton technique

While in combat, and far from target, the current pikeman does a kind of pike shift, spinning it from hand to hand. We should be able to do this in a non combat way. While standing about, we should be able to do a pike spin. Nothing huge and HAM costing, just a flourish. If we cant have the juice, at least give us the appeal.

Don't be so proud of this technological terror you've created. The ability to destroy a planet is insignificant next to the power of the Force.

I like the hail mary idea, but think it needs a better name

I think that having this added in at novice pikeman, and then increasing the level of effectiveness and the dmg output as you raise in the ranks would definatly make this class something that people would want to play since we would have a special that no one else has or even comes close. I think having it as a last ditch assault where the massive dmg you put outwould save you from death, but at a high cost in battle fatigue and regen rates of all HAM for a set period of time (the higher the level, the lower the down time and the better the effect of the move).

I think that adding something like this in along with fixing our other stuff would be superb.

OMG! Those could so work.

I like th hail mary, except for the name, but whatcha gonna do? Right when I read the description I immediatly thought dizzy. I want to add as many side affects to this so that the devs might consider it.

Also, we are pikemen, users of sticks. Would it be so hard to add spears or javelins. A telescoping metal baton would be cool. Jousting would be an awesome way of dueling, be it from the back of a mount or on a speeder.

Just to give you an idea of a BAD suggestion, someone on the Fencer board way back posted the idea of a 'last ditch' move, where the fencer locks up the opponent, they both just sit there for many second, and there's some fancy lights and maybe some music. then one of them keels over dead. It was basically the worst idea ever.

You wouldn't want to make the Hail Mary be like that ("it can kill anything, but when you're done you have 1 HAM").

What would be cool is if it was indeed a sort of continuous whirling move. causing a spin attack every x seconds. so the longer something was within it, the worse. But then again, what's the difference between that and just spamming spin attacks?

Hell, maybe others in the group could use the pikeman as a kind of shield. that might be neat if it was a more defensive move...

I like the idea of the last ditch move. Some sort of short, time based manuever, either by spinning around or by wildly twirling the weapon about. The move wouldn't even have to be high-powered, just a high speed, chain attack combo. Of course, the target could dodge...
