Hey everyone


TH appointed me Pikeman correspondent a little while ago, so I thought I'd make a post updating everyone on where Pikemen stand in the big issue.


I've gone through the correspondent forums and read our devresponses. They still need work so I'm not sure when they'll be posted,but I'll be doing my best to make sure the answers we get are informative and meaningfull...


Our biggest issues, just judging by the posts I've seen. (and this isn't an 'official' list of course).. seem to be Accuracy, HAM, toughness, Block, lack of class definition, and low damage or low DPS. If I've missed something that needs to be noted as a top issue, please let me know!


List any questions you have and I'll do what I can to answer them, thanks

Try to provide a focus on the class, my biggest complaint with the pikemen correspondents so far, all they did was compile issues and throw them at the devs. Think about it for a minute. We're complaining about EVERYTHING about Pikeman. Damage, speed, accuracy, defense, EVERYTHING. So what's OUR primary concern? PRIMARY, one thing at a time.


Half a year and all they've done is give us a pacifier that seems to be working for allot of people..

Yep...accuracy is a good one, although if damage were increased then our accuracy should be lower for balance.

Yea...the fact that block is very crappy...we still take damage...what is the point of giving the class with the worst defense, a defensive skill that still takes damage????

Well yea..but if other things are fixed we will be defined...ie,we should be Tough (very tough) have low HAM cost so we can spam specials which will make us strong, good defense which will make us tough, slow, and accurate.

do you play pikeman..if opeth put that in there I am soooooo glad he is gone...my damage is insane...


or low DPS


yes it is low...becuase we miss way to much

Congrats Gunman on being the new correspondant. Good luck to you. I hope you can get things done. As far as what we need fixing....you pretty much summarized it. I personally think speed is another really big issue with us. At master pikeman I still don't feel very fast in comparison to other melee classes.

Pikeman : The only class that couldn't hit the ground if they droped their weapon.
Pikeman : Doing massive damage; to the air surrounding our target.
Pikeman : You're dead meat, unless you happen to be standing in front of us.
Pikeman : Because the devs were one profession short.
DEVs : Pikeman? Thats a class?

Metroid....I'll be working my tail off to make sure we finally get some answers that are worth something


C-Lab...There was support to bring our damage modifiers in line with the other brawler professions, so I listed that as an issue. If there's a group who would like to see this removed for favor of something else, I can do that.


Soul...I'll add speed to the list, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to fit it in this time around, I'll check and see.

my only request is you hound the hell out of the correspondent forums and try to get some attention that way, annoyance generates attention hopefully the changes TH mentioned will be decent

Really?..ok well if more people want it than dont that is fine. The thing is if they do give us more damage they will just take away from something else we I think we have pretty good damage..eh but I could be wroong.

i believe this refers to our ph3 having a damage modifier of x3 instead of x4 like the other melee classes, i... uuuh.... think, might be wrong though, i think it was in a post by opeth which i dont wanna search for.

most important issues are toughness and ham costs... id say instead of giving the devs a big list lets just make em focus on these changes first so that they get done faster if they ever get done that is.


accuracy is a bit fixed since last patch, block, well you should be able to play pikes without block anyway... these aee secondary issues.
