I just got up to Master Pikemen, and Im also a Master Brawler. I have a LVA that does 556max and speed of under 4.5. I also have other assortments of DOT Vibro Lances that effect different areas, and an almost decent NS Lance. I hear that best thing to loot for a pikemen is nightsisters, though I hear they are kind of hard. I got ganged up by 6 and died from it. All I really knew to use was PArea2 and PSwoop2. Is there any tips anyone can give me to make this easier so I can get on with the looting to find good polearms. Seems to me the auction for Pikemen and Polearms on Farstar are really high prices. So can anyone give me an idea of a better way to fight Nightsisters?

Well, realistically (though not currently in practice), you should always die if you are being attacked by 6 nightsisters alone. Your first bet would be to be more careful about how many you take on at once. You should be able to handle a few non-elders, at least, with good armor and your LVA.

Yeah, you want to try and pull NS one on one. You may also seriously consider picking up some medic if you don't already have some. High level NS bleeds can stack to around 800 tick...and those NS carrying stun batons are brutal.

Beside that, Spell Weavers and Protectors (and Elders, though I wouldn't advise you to try and solo one) are your best bets for getting good pikes.

As already mentioned, fighting more than a few Nightsisters at a time is pretty quick way to get killed. If a couple of them hit you with the force attack that sucks away your HAM (drain? choke?) or apply bleeds you can find yourself in a bad situation even against the lower-level Nightsisters. Depending on if you have a stun layer in your armor, it can also get nasty if they pull out stun batons.

How you actually fight is really a matter of personal style. I'd recommend making sure you use intimidate and taunt in just about any fight with them, though. The more you can keep them intimidated, the better off you are. As for taunt, when they're close to dead they'll turn around and start walking in the opposite direction. A successful taunt will stop them in their place so you don't end up chasing them into a group you can't handle.

ok, i have a question for all you ns hunters out there. is it just me, or does the loot drop rate seem to be ALWAYS better when your with a group hunting them. or do you feel you have just as good of a chance while going solo.... i dunno but i've went solo like 2343232432 times and it always seems like a ns drops an item 1 out of 9 kills whereas in a group its more like 1 out of 4. I've always wondered this question, but thought it not to be possible, however sense the release of the luck tree it seems like there could be different bonus's to looting.

Either store your bike or keep it a safe distance away from the fighting if you can. Keep a spare bike or two on hand so you don't end up having to trek 4km back to the starport because an NS blew up your only bike with a lightning bolt.

Use a looping Center of Being macro. With CoB up you will block most of the attacks that land on you.

Get at leastMedic 2XXX so you can cure bleeds. NS caninflict a nasty 3-pool bleed that will wear you down over time.

Buya suit of stun layered armor, preferably with 80+% blast and kinetic resists as well. The stun resist doesn't need to be especially high; I do just fine against stun-baton-wielding protectors with a 4-8% stun suit.

Draw NS away from their spawn point in ones or twos.

You will not be able to land states (other than intimidate) on spellweavers or protectors. Don't even try.

When fighting NS, keep them intimidated! While intimidated they only do half damage and will not block/dodge/counterattack.

NS turn and run when they're about to die. Taunt will freeze them in their tracks.

Good luck out there!
