Hi guys, I've been looking at the pikeman forum for about 2 months, it seems to be devided when you come to the question if u can fight PVP without DoT's. I'm just wondering if i get +25 speed so i cap and a 1k max dmg pike be abble to do decent dmg in PVP? I was thinking maybe knocking em over to disable their melee mitigation and then just finnish em off... Would that work?.. Or am i just dreamin X)

Depends if they are stackers or not..... we hit about as often as any ranged proff does..... -45 on all modifiers for looted 1K pike....

I pvp more then a fair amount, and even the 1k+ looted pikes wont do enough damage to me with my comp armor, even if I am KD/Dizzy on the ground.The high damage pikes are indeed goodagainst Jedi but armor really kills them and crafted weapons, wellyou can forget about those doing enough damage to get past armor.

Really depends on who your fighting. Im speed and accuracy capped, with a 750 max lva, and I can hold my own normally. The biggest problem is our low toughness and completely gimpy block. We can inflict damage through armor, but we will always take a lot of damage yourself. If you prepare right you can sometimes beat it, with steak, the proper foods etc. But against top of the line people, not saying its impossible, but its quite difficult because of those two reasons.

Hmm, well, thanks for your response, yeah i know that we i cant tuch stackers ( :'( ).

Stayin' alive isnt a problem asi killed riflemans with my 300 mind posion pike

Don't worry ive been fencer and swordsman 2 so im quite experienced in the none-DoT way 2

It is true, mitigation eats us alive. That is why i always prefer to dizzy/kd with a fast accurate lance and switch to swords to finish of their mind. However if it is ranged or a jedi, go crazy.

I have been PvPing with a stacked Pikeman template. I only use Pikes for attacking and to be honest I don't die as much as I thought I would. I never use DOTs in 1 vs 1 encounters unless the other person decides to use DOTs. Now the fight does take one hell of a long time but 90% of the time I either win or it ends up being a draw. I can take on TKMs while I am not wearing armor and still at least have an even fight, all without DOTs. If I am fighting a stacker I have to have armor on just to slow them down a little because I can't keep them on their backs enough to regen without my armor on. I am currently using a 700+ LVA that is 4.6 speed and I have no additional speed.

What about if u have an 800 action fire lance with 600 dmg?. Just spam leghit3? or what it is called...

As long as your 1k dmg pike is an LVA, feel free to beat up on all ranged fighters and Jedi. You will take them down quite fast.

As for melee'ers, that damage pike will work well against everyone but TKs. Their melee mitigation plus high toughness will really eat through the damage output. You'll probably still win, but the condition loss on your pike isn't really worth it.

Well i have a 1.9 sec 1k LVA and fought a stacked swordsman - couldn't even scratch him in 90% comp... i saw silly numbers of around 100 or less floating about his head - he could re-gen quicker than i could damage him lol. Comp so needs to be nerfed into oblivion! I'd be happy if it got capped at about 60% - that way we'd have to use Ubese etc for PvE and melee PvP. The only pikes i bother with in PvP are my mind poison and mind fire pikes, then sit back with a Jawa and let the DOT'sdo the work
