The reason I ask is because I am going to start a Rifleman \ Pikeman. The rifleman can do headshot, so I need apikeman attack that also attacks mind. Do you think this is a good combo? I like having the ranged and melee working together, I feel like I solo better.

Go pistol or carbine. Pistol for Health Carb for action. Plus these 2 weapon classes are usually a faster fire rate.

Hmm, good question, I have used it about once in my life, but to my knowledge, I think it it is a random attack on 1 of the 3 areas (body, limb, mind).

Pikeman specalize in action damage.

Two handed Swordsman specalize in mind damage.

One hand sword specalizes in health damage.

The reason I say it is because I think it does, but if you say its random, well maybe that's it. I like to Stun then from time to time and if the mind pool of the hunted is low I will to a Stun attack. I'll have to look into this one more thourough.

You will occasionally score a hit to the head which will typically do a lot of mind damage, however, it seems we are only able to target action intentionally (with the various leg hits) - at the very least until high levels (am at work, can't reference directly).

However, if you are looking for a one-two range-melee punch, you could try carbine, in which you can also target the action pool via a similar leg hit. Tag the mob coming in with the leg shot, finish them of with your pole.

I have read a great number of testimonials extolling the great virtues of pistol, and from what I've seen, I think they are quite effective, even though they don't directly mesh with our damage options. However, attacking more than one pool only makes the fight longer.

Which polearm hits effect which pools? I know that Leg Hit attacks mind, but what about the others? Any info would be appreciated.

Polearm attacks are either untargeted (autoattack, Polearm Hit 1, etc), or target the Action pool (i.e. Leg Hit).

Untargetted attacks seem to hit health roughly 60%, action roughly 30%, and mind roughly 10%.

yeah but i have also noticed attacks chaining up lately, so if one attack hits mind the next is likely to also. this seems odd because it is so rare to hit the mind pool. dont know if this is justcoincidence or actualy part of the programing.

Somehow I got Polearm Hit 2 to take out all of a TKA's mind in a PVP...He gave me the first hit and I took his whole mind out...was insane. He was the best TKA I know of on Starsider named "Nam". He would whoop my ass any time cause of his knockdown attack, but now he's sketchy since I did kill him in one shot. I love pikeman, so mysterious, you never know what could happen.
