I'm just wondering what are good stats on a good weapon? And also how do i check what armour gives to you?

Can someone please respond. I am oing through the polearm ranks pretty fast i think. I'm at expert polearm and this is like my third day. Right now i have a metal staff that is 6.1 attack speed and 55-77 dmg or something like that, not sure bout dmg i keep forgeting what it is excatly. Now i just got to work on master polearm... that 70k exp gona take a while, though i could knock out around 8000 exp in 2 hours outside bestine, so it should only take like 3 or 4 days for me to get there.

I can make a reinforced combat staff that is 49-106 4.3. It looks like the damage on yours will be more consistently, but it takes longer. Everyone who has used my crafted staff has been happy with their individual results. If you are on the eclipse server send Syr a tell. If not you need to let your potential crafter that you have just seen a staff that was this high.. it is possible but requires just the right ingredients to get it smokin.

One way to calculate a weapon's effectiveness is to determine average damage per second.

Add the min and max damage, divide by 2, then divide this by the speed.

So, your metal staff is ((55+77)/2)/6.1 = 5.41

Whereas, my 48-104, 4.6 reinforced staff is: ((48+104)/2)/4.6 = 16.52

Wow... That's a bigger difference than I was expecting. Even if they were close, I'd take the faster weapon. When fighting tough foes in a group, I try to alterate a lunge with a damaging attack, to keep the critter down (and not hitting me). A faster weapon lets me pull this off more quickly, giving the critter less time to get up.

That's not the only consideration, though. Check the special move costs - if you're doing a lot of special moves, you want these to be as low as possible, because each special move damages you based on the weapon's costs and the type of move.

There are also some weapons that have different damage types or armor ratings, that are better for penetrating armor. I'm not sure how the polearms stack up in this category, but it's a concern for firearms, anyway.

Ok I have a few newb questions too if someone can answer these. If i increase in a skill like polearm, sence i'm an expert, do i do more dmg now? do i attk faster?

Also what does the speed mean? is that how man secs between each attack? Also can you guys name the attks you use the most in battle and what lvl skill i need to use them. Cause i use only autoattack right now. Mainly because the lung i was useing did dmg but yellow dmg... and it didn't lower anything so i was confused.

Thanks alot for the explaintion now i know what i need to buy but i still don't have the money : )

I use th ebone bruser attack everytime, except if the creatures action pool is lower than their health pool then I do a Leg attck, and if I throw a bone spur and then a noise maker at them, which affects their mind pool, I so a Stun Attack on them. I use all of them depending on what stats the creature has, I have been using beserk more lately.

Using the damge per second calc I get ((44+166)/2)*6.3 = 16.67 That's with a Lance. When I get into a missing frenzy though I have problems the 6.3 is a pain sometimes.

We all need to find a slicer and get the attack speed down. That's the answer, I think.

I never use Polearm Lunge, but i light of the balance factor I might start experimenting with it.

I am 36k on my way to the 70k Master polearm. I say two days and I'm there.

oops that should read((44+166)/2)/6.3) = 16.67

By your formula my staff comes out to 18.02. This is better than the lance that dragonviper has, on average, per normal swing. Swings faster too. How does this formula rate when you toss in the specials and berserk to the mix? Because I dont think he is going to special for 600 with my max damage of 106 so low in comparison.

The formula being (((49+106)/2)/4.3)=18.02. I think i saw that he specialed for 6++'s in another thread.

A little off topic for this thread, but ...

How are you raising your XP? Just curious .. it is taking me forever to raise my XP. I don't mind putting in the time, but I'm always looking for best practices ...

I have no idea. With my reinfoced combat staff, my bone bruisers seem to top out around 350 or so - I might have a few higher, but I don't think I've done 400 in one hit yet.

I found some lances for sale on Starsider last night. Roughly 12-170, speed around 6; that puts the damage per second pretty close to what the reinforced staff does. The special costs were very high, though (30-60+), so I couldn't see justifying the purchase. Even if you're doing 600+ specials, if you're killing yourself to do them, it's not worth it.

I have never ever had my action go so low as to kill or incap myself in a battle. I have 1100 max action, and I can't remember what the other are right now. I am Zabrak as previously stated.

Now I don't special 600 all the time but I do get it often.

As far as xp, I have gotten the most in Corellia, running between Coronet and the Ty city. Attacking everything that is blue or white and some yellows. But also hunt a great deal on Naboo, and Rori. I have fond that the Corellian Bones and Hides seem to be the best of the threee and since I am also a Engineering Specialist and Droid Engineer going for Armorsmith I like the good resources to make Bone Armor. I have made 20% Energy Resistance so far, but think with the right combo of things I can get it to 25%. But that is off topic completely.

If you go Beserk, then you hit more often, so I say, get the bigger more damaging weapon. If you hit for mass damage then you can kill your fo faster so he wont be able to do damage to you.

For example if you walk up to anything and hit for 500 right off the bat, bam it goes down. If you hit for 100, then 200, and then 150 it will go down but the creature just got like 10 hits on you, so now you have to rest before you fight again. So, I say the more damage the better. If you don't like the slow weapon speed, use beserk more often, but there you can't use specials and you can't do the big damage.

Also one thing to point out. I do have a few Polearm Skill Enhancers. If you don't know what they are, go to the bazaar and under misc/items, look for some. You need to get socketed clothes too. Drag the skill enchancers into your clothes and wear the clothes.

For example, I have Polearm +2, Polearm speed +1, Polearm damage +1, and I think that's it. You should really look around if you don't have any, maybe these are the differenc makers you are looking for.

I'm on Tatooine and i just ran around killing kreetls and their houses rills and there houses and some gourns or whatever they called. ALl of which were blue and green and i got through advanced polearm in like 2 hours or less... It seemed to be pretty fast to me. I was getting 90 exp per creature and was killing an average of 6 or 7 a house and got like 120 exp for the house... a little more for the rills... Now i have only done tuskan hunting and that has got me 7.5k of my 75k so I might try a new path.
