I would like to talk about the uses of this move in PvP. How to get close to marksmen...what to combo it with etc. It seems like a very strong move, it deals ok damage and floors opponents....but i still have to get close enough to the riflemen to use it b4 I die.

What do you masters do?

Is this the same as Polearm spin? or are they different?

Polearm sweep is closer to lunge. The difference is that it does some damage and forces the person to prone or laying down I forget which.

Yes, Polearmsweep1 does do significant damage, unlike the lunge. From my observations, it does about half of what my polearmhit2 does.

It falls them to fall flat on their ass. Literally their legs just kick out and front and they fall on their ass. Quite comical the first few times.

It causes knockdown, like Lunge2. A knocked down opponent is a sitting duck.

A little off topic, sorry, but is anyone else annoyed that you can't hit whatever it was you used sweep on until it gets back up? I had been working hard to get sweep so I could knock things down and then do some major damage, but I'm feeling quite let down now.

I think they should reduce the time sweep takes up in the queue to allow at least one or two attacks in before the target gets up. Just doesn't seem right that I can knock something down, then have to stare at it until it gets back up. Or maybe I'm just missing something...

It is very useful on mobs as long as you have a decently fast weapon (4.4 or so). You can get in a shot or two while it is down. It is, however, completely worthless on players. They can stand right back up and run off instantly, long before you can get another shot in.

Another aspect of a broken melee system Nevermind the fact that pistoleers can keep repeatedly knocking you down at the rated speed of their weapon (1.7 speed scout blaster chain pistol whip... /cry), and bounty hunters and carbineers can do it from range!

ARGH!

Lunge2 aint that much better... sure, it has range, but it sucks nearly 200 action and they can still stand right back up

I'm partial to the way that sweep makes the screen shake when big mobs fall down.

By the way, any other Corbantis Pikesmen here? Looking for someone to help defray the training costs with. So far I've purchased Offense 1, Defense 1, and Support 1.

Lunge has never done aything for me but take up action and do no more than 3 points of damage. So all I know is Hit, Action, Stun, and Spin.
