Here's the reough draft for the first installment, preparation. If I missed something, or you think something needs to be changed, let me know!

The Pikeman PvP Guide

What do I need to do in order to prepare for PvP?

The first thing that is needed to be successful in PvP is mastery of the profession. Without master, you don’t have the accuracy, speed, and toughness bonuses, and you also miss out on PolearmHit3, arguably our best attack.

Another master box you may wish to seek is Master Brawler. With this box, you receive lunge 2, which is a knockdown attack with a range of 20 meters. You also receive Warcry2 and Intimidate2, both very powerful in the world of PvP. Warcry2 can delay your target for 20 seconds, which is quite a long while in PvP. It will allow you to get free hits on your opponent, and gives you the edge you need. Intimidate2 will cut your opponents damage in half, which is also quite helpful in PvP.

The next big item is armor. Armor is very essential to Pikeman. 90% armor with stun resistances is the best armor you can get, but that armor is super rare and often very, very expensive. With the new sonic blaster, and with the ion rifles for rifleman floating about, stun resistance in armor is almost essential nowadays. I’d suggest 80% armor with stun resistances. It’s not as hard to come by, can still be expensive, but is still very helpful in PvP.

The next item is weapons. You want high damage sliced Long Vibro Axes or Vibro Lances. I’d suggest the LVAs because of their medium armor piercing. Buy a few damage powerups, and you’re good to go.

Spices and food also aid in the PvP cause. With the new chef revamp, there’s food that increases KD resistances, dizzy resistances, reduces the amount of damage you take from attacks, and even more choices. There is no right or wrong choice when choosing food, most of the time it comes down to what the situation requires. Muon Gold is a great spice to have at all times. It increases your mind/focus/willpower by 500 each for 10 minutes. This could help you with those pesky mind HAM costs as well as boost your mind pool for oncoming attacks.

Often times, combat macros are overlooked. It’s good to setup a few macros so you don’t have to worry about clicking the buttons on your toolbar hundreds of times. Macros could range anywhere from applying every state effect to your target, to just having 8 Polearmhit3s setup in a macro so you don’t have to click the button 8 times.

So, you’ve mastered pikeman, have good armor, food and spices, a good weapon, and have setup your macros. You’re almost ready to PvP. Next thing you need to do is seek out buffs, both from doctors and musicians/dancers. Buffs are essential to pvp for pikeman. If you don’t have friends that will buff you for free, it could cost anywhere from 20-30k each time you buff, but it’s worth it. Having 4k HAM will do wonders for survival in pvp

Ok, does this armor exist?

On my server the best suits you can come by are either a 80-90% suit with NO stun resists, or a 37% stun resist with 55% kinetic and 45%for the rest.

If there are people out there that have 90% uber stun suits, please let me know because the jackasses on my server are missing something.

Wonder why someone one-starred me. Huh? It's a legitimate question. I'm not saying Gunman is full of crap if thats what someone is thinking. I'm wondering wth is wrong with the armorsmiths on my server if they can't make this stuff and its possible to make it.

Maybe someone from the armorsmiths forums wandered over, saw my post and one-starred me for making fun of them. Dunno.

90% Armor is possible. On my server you can make 65/40, and I personally have a 90/40 stun helm.

Does Intimidate afflict DoT damage? I don't believe it afflicts disease, poisons, fire but uncertain about bleeds. Just might be helpful to know if going up against CMs, or Commandos, so that one don't wastes time in the combat que.

...20-30 000 creds for a buff? yaiks, those Flurry ppl sure know how to charge a fellah

As long as Defense Stacking is in the game NS lances with the +7 range mod are veerryyy handy.

I really recommend getting +25 speed attachements (if not a master brawler, +20 if you are) this will push you to the speed cap and allow you to hit every second.

Although without buffs we are kinda dead meat since our specials consume our HAM I do use pixie when I am caught unbuffed and need to get in a fight.

I also maxed accuracy with +25 attachments but with the upcoming D stack nerf I'd put less emphasis on that.

depends on your weapon, +16 is enough for me with 4.3 speed weapons

input your min/max dmg, wep speed and player speed modifier and it gives you a table of real speeds etc etc.

Not to be rude, but everything you said applies to all melees, and in most ways applies to all PvPers in general.

So what do you all think spin attack 2 has a better DPS but area 2 can stun/dizzy and stun is of great value, or is it best to use stun 2 then spin 2, do the two specialized attacks have a better chance of sticking the state?

Well, yes. This is just part one, and it's just a rough draft. Going to go back today and addin armor attachments that people should look for and so forth that everyone's mentioned in this thread. But, you know, preparation is pretty much the same for everyone anyways.
