Calling All Bladesman, I'm a Master Artisan and I've been making melee and ranged powerups for months now. I've decided to concentrate my effortson melee powerups and I'd like to know what you fencers value in a powerup. I have 15 schematics for melee right now and there are more that I can create. I'm currently making powerups that are 33/16.

An example of one powerup is: 33 mind / 16 maximum damage (for those of you who do not know, this means the mind cost will be reduced 33% and the maximum damage will be increased 16% for that weapon). The firstenhancementwill usually be Mind, Action, Health, Ideal Range or Point Blank Range. The secondenhancement will usually be Max Damage, Minimum Damage, Speed, Wound Chance, Max Range or Ideal Range.

So, what's important to you? Decreasing the Mind, Health or Action costs? Increasing the Speed or Maximum Damage? Or, do you even use powerups? Please give me some input so I can make the products you want.

Thanks!

Since most of our weapons have a low minimum damage, the min damage bonuses are not nearly as good as the max damage ones. So typically I prefer Mind + Max Damage. However, Health + Max Damage can come in handy as well if you either dont have doc buffs or got some lousy ones. The health reduction ones only go into my Gaffi stick.

TKAs might use Action reducing powerups, but its unlikely. Most of us whether we are TK, fencer, swordsman, pikeman, or any combination of those, prefer mind reduction on our weapons since the mind pool is the most sensitive. Other than that we almost invariably want the secondary to be Max Damage. Some PVPers might want speed powerups to go into a LVA or a powerhammer, but there will always be a higher demand for max damage.

I use 33% Mind, 16%Max dmg and 6% Min dmg.

Yes, max/min on a melee powerup. I've even made some with 7% min damage once. It takes a lot of trying but it's possible. As a TKM I used those and now as a Fencer I still use them.

I have also made a few powerups with more than two enhancements but they are rare. So, I take it speed is not as important as max damage then?

Calling All Pikeman, I ran a similar survey on fencer and now I'm surveying youyou.

Well first of all we get shat on equally in all HAM pools so one is really no difference from the next, but if you had to pick one, mind would probably be it.

As for the speed/damage question, novice pikers will want the speed whereas upper echelon and master pikers will want the damage.

The biggest problem I have with powerups is the cost for a crate and how quickly they wear off. If they lasted longer or were cheaper, I'd probably buy more than I do now.

not really, as the speed cap it hit fairly early by going up the footwork tree first.

For me it's all maximum damage.. as high as possible.

I bought a crate of powerups that improved point blank hit%, but I can't get to point blank range with creatures, they just run away. Damage power-ups would be what I would go for most of all.

Thanks for the feedback guys! I'm not sure a max damage at 33% is possible, 16 yes. I have made literally hundeds of powerups looking for that attribute at 33% and have never made one. Now it may be that it can be done and is just very rare. If I make one I'll let you all know.

Concerning range...that doesn't seem to be a desired quality from the people I have talked with. Would you agree?

I looked at my weapons tonight. Forget the mind 33%, go with the health.

Like Braglor said, its all about the max damage. I've had other guys tell me that the 33% can't be damage. So this being the case, we would be looking for 33% health/16% max damage.

I think a boatload of those would do the trick.
