Thread: Hybrid prof.?

well we all know TH said pikeman is meant to be a hybrid prof. and i'm having a hard time deciding what to do it with, it's mainly between swordsman and fencer, i have a master TKA on my 2nd account, so i dont really wanna do that...and i'd like to stay with melee..any advice?

Well, I'm a master ranger and getting close to mastering Pikeman. While on the one hand, Ranger doesn't give me a single bonus in combat. On the other hand, traps do a good job of making up for not being able to use specials unless I'm fully buffed.
I lead all battles with a wire mesh to drop theirdefense, then add in a stun or blind. The 27 action it costs to throw the trap is nothing compared to the 130+ cost for doing a special.
Plus, I can use adhesive mesh on critters to hold them in place, then get to 8m range and I pummel them while they can't hit me. 
Other than that, the only real bonus at taking Ranger as your hybrid is that you're right at the corpses when they die, so very little running around is required for harvesting.
