Im a Master Pikemen and have several defensive abilities: Blind, Dizzy, Knockdown etc..
If I 'unequipt' my Polearm Weapon, and fight unarmed, are those types of defensive skills still in effect?

yes but if you have no tkm you would get owned by every attack

There are 2 kinds of defenses that come in to play here. Defenses when holding a pike and innate defenses.
Innate defenses such as defense vs blind, knockdown, melee mitigation always work, regardless of the weapon you are holding.
Defenses such as polearm toughness and block only work when you are holding a polearm.
