the cap on mods is 125. The effectiveness of those mods grant may not increase after 93 but that wasn't the point. They keep working up until 125.

See the speed cap and the mod cap are entirely seperate. Speed cap is 1 shot/hit per second. The only thing more speed mods will do is get your specials that much closer to the speed cap but once all your specials are at the speed cap, doesn't matter if you get another +25 speed. It won't make you any faster even if the calculations are still effected.

+96 speed is basically cap for anything, you might have 1.1 attack using hit3 with a really slow lance though, +97 is guaranteed cap even if the pike was 100 spd you'd swing once per second.

That's not right. Speed is a percentage. 97% speed reduction will cap on almost anything, but if you had a lva that was 100 speed, you'd swing every 3 seconds.

The slowest pike is 6.5 right? that means at 95 your at 1.0 with whatever pike you hold

All the mods are percentages. All the combat related mods are capped at +125 (well, the defensive at least. The offensive mods like speed and accuracy might be 150).

This is how the calculations for speed works.

You have your weapon. It has a speed. This is the base number the system works with. If it's an lva with a speed of 3.5. The beginning number is 3.5.

You have mods. Master pikeman gives +75 polearm speed (according to swg.allakhazam.com). That's 75%. With a +75 mod your weapon speed would be reduced from 3.5 to 0.875. Since the speed cap due is 1 attack per second. You swing every second as your base. However, the number used for calculating special times is 0.875.

You use say, stun2 which has a speed modifier of 2. You would then attack using stun 2 every 1.75 seconds.

So you see, the mods will lower the calculation number up until you hit the hardcap for mods. That means if the mod cap is 125, anything after 125 will have no effect on that number. Using the above example, you could theoretically (if other restrictions weren't in place) get your 3.5 lva to have a modded speed of -0.875 (which is entirely useless).

My point though is, the modifier cap and the speed cap are two entirely SEPERATE things. It is a very important distinction to make if you're trying to calculate how best to spend your skill points.
