Thread: New pikeman on Radiant, need pointers

Hey folks. I am currently 3224 Pike and need some advice. Other than mastering Pikeman should I also master TK for additional Melee Def? As it is I get my A$$ WHOOPED by NS. Now the question is. Will it get better when I master? Or should I master TK or Fencer for additional Melee Def? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Darahk

Heya Darahk,
It will get better when you finish Pikeman for sure.You're going to see a big difference from where you are now in speed, accuracy, and also the amount of damage you can take (because you'll havemelee mitigation 3).
As for what to add on to Master Pikeman, it's really up to you in terms of what interests you and you feel that fits with your character. Many pick up all or some of fencer because of the added defenses you receive. Others will pick up TKA because the meditation line is extremely helpful.
One thing to consider is to think about mastering Brawler. Master Brawler is the icing on the cake of any serious melee template. You have Intimidate2, which is sweeeet. (Intimidate will reduce their defenses and also cut the amount of damage they do to you drastically).You mentioned you were fighting Nightsisters.If you plan to be successful with NS, you need to keep them intimidated ALWAYS.
For what it's worth, the last time I had a full-on melee template, I was Master Pikeman, Master Fencer, Master Brawler,TKA 4300, and Novice Medic.
