it used to be good cause it could do energy damage but now teh Vl will do energy damage and the VL is a master box weapon and is very very good.
so basicly all the super expensive weaponswe bought are now worthless

It's not worthless, all weapons in the game do either energy or kenetic damage. Also, the weapon stats on the CU are not currently accurate.

There's really no saying if it's worthless or the best pike in our profession. You know, it's the old "you must unlearn what you have learned" deal. This is a whole new game and you can't compare damage type, numbers, or anything else to what you know in live today. It just doesn't match up.
And for what it's worth, even though the NSEL will have different numbers then it used to, I have a feeling you still get the weapon as you do today. Which means it will remain rare.

I'm fine with the NSEL being lower-end as long as it remains USEFUL and assuming someone in a high place took my suggestion to make it just easy enough to get that it doesn't cost 5-8 million credits. Think DXR6b Rifle. The difficulty it takes to obtain one *currently* would lead me to believe its completely uber and awesome and better than anything else we've got.. I don't care if it becomes that or not, just as long as its usefulness fits its obtainability (I know its not a word, shut up 
).

How often did you really use your NSEL anyways? Hell, with them removing DOTs or something like that, the ones we have now may become pretty good.

if they UP the NSEL stats, then give it the damage bonuses from the dots and remove the dots cuz they are teh suxxorz, i won't be sad.

Yeah good point, if they're compensating our DOT weapons by upping the rest of their stats, existing NSELs might get a pretty nice boost.

compensating by how much? if my 5 spd weapon has a weak 150 max dmg, but a great 150 DOT str, will it become 500+mx dmg? or closer to 200-300? I'm thinkin the latter, and at that, they are near worthless

You haven't even used it in the TC yet so how do you know it's garbage? Yea the numbers are lower but it could be very effective once you are higher up the pikeman tree.

Right, right now they're testing the noob learning curve more than weapon balance. Probably not good to take the current weapon stats too seriously.
