Pikeman Archive

ive just got back to playing again and i am respecing one of my old characters. i used to have a pikeman on another server but have since decided to stop him. i have respeced my old carbineer to fencer(almost master) and thought it a very good choice. my main choice for fencer was to be fast and have good defence. i find, after looking at the pike forums during the downtime ><, that i may be better off with a pikeman but i still do not understand the pros and cons of both professions. i would really like some help deciding on which profession to choose from and experienced players point of view. and also keep in mind that i intend to become a jedi somewhere donw the line.

p.s. and offtopic question. what armour can i wear as a melee wookie. i bought some kashyykian ceremonial armour but i cant wear it and i have no idea why :S this would be a great help as i really need some armour. also wear to get it/pricing would be a great help.

Fencer is okay. Pikeman has better defense and better abilities though. But if you have Rage of the Wookiees, there are a lot of really cool quest-obtained fencer weapons. Only one really good pikeman quest weapon so far.

thanks a lot for ur help. ive been pretty confused. the only other thing i want to know is where do i go from pikeman? i want to master another profession and quickly. what will be my best bet? is doctor really useful anymore? or maybe creature handler? i really want to be able tostart the grind to padawan within a month, ideally. i dont have rage of the wookies so those items are pretty much out of reach to me.

Well, if you want to grind to jedi, your best bet is to get a template with many different types of XP: so preferably two master elite melee professions as far as I'm concerned. And in my very biased, one-sided opinion which is probably somewhat wrong, you can't get better than Pikeman/Swordsman. Level 80, Battle armor, Intimidate, Warcry, Spin attack, Critical Strike, great defenses, accuracy, speed, choice of weaponry, etc. You should be able to do well solo in pvewith this template as well, something valuable when trying to get Jedi. Wouldn't hurt to throw in a few boxes of TKA and/or Fencer as well.. this will increase your skills, give you new attacks, and give you more weapons to get xp with.
