No not due to a holocron! I decided today to delete my rifleman and go Pikeman (my 2nd account by the way).
Why you ask!?!
Well I like the playing the underdog (no insult intended). Your class was shown to be the least played so I knew it was for me! I am going pikeman and creature handler.

So I have a few questions:
1. what would be a nice complementary class for my pikeman?
2. What HAM does our attacks use?
3. what stats should I be looking for on my weapons?
4. what should I want my HAM stats at?

A: Anything that keeps you from using a pike weapon to fight

2. What HAM does our attacks use?

A: All of it, unless you're Wookiee. Then you quickly realize how much tanking sucks without armor with our crap toughness mod.

3. what stats should I be looking for on my weapons?

A: As long as it doesn't take a polearm cert, you should be fine.

4. what should I want my HAM stats at?

A: Lots of mind, because medic is a requirement, not an option.

You will be the underdog in many situations as a pikeman. Here are some serious answers to your questions:

1. Master Doctor or some Doctor/Master Brawler so you can buff yourself and use the better warcry/intimidate skills. The doc enhances will eliminate most HAM cost concerns. If you actually want a challenge in this game, stay away from CH.

2. LVA uses mostly health, VL and lance use mostlyaction

3.My LVA was like 360 max damage 4.4 speed before any slicing. I think my VL was 290 max and 3.9 speed. At lower levels you should use speed-sliced weapons and then have high damage ones available once you master stances.

4. If you're a doc, max out all mind stats. Even if you're not you may want toboost mind abitsince you canbuy400+powerstim B's you can use as a novice medic.
