Thread: we need to come up with an equation
Max damage:
0-300 trash
300-600 = 1 thousand credits per point
600-900 = 2 thousand per point
900+ = 3 thousand per point
Condition:
if it is less that 400, subtract 1k for every point
over 400 = good but no extra cash
HAM:
no change in price
DoT:
poison must be over 200
disease over 40
fire over 50
for every potency point below 50% subtract 10k
Mind - fire 50-100=500k, 100+=one million; poison 200-300=500k, 300+=one million
Action - beh, who wants it? poison 200-500=250k, 500+=500k; disease 100+=250k
Health - again how useful? poison 200-500=250k, 500+=500k; disease 100+=250k
AP0 price*0.5
AP1 price*2
AP2 price*3
for me, the easiest equation for any weapon is this:
its worth exactly whatever someone is willing to pay for it

Personally I am sick of these weapons. No other profession actually needs to loot weapons to be effective. Pikeman is the only profession that when we need a new weapon we don't bother the artisans in the game, we go nightsister hunting. This goes against everything the devs have tried to achieve with a player run economy. No crafted pikeman weapons are anywhere near as good as mediocre looted ones.
DOT lances are nice. High damage lances are nice. But can we try and get the devs to actually make our crafted weapons worthwhile? And don't let the devs claim that they can't do it. Anyone remember how commando weapons and light lightning cannons were before around October? I have cigarette lighters that would do more damage than those early flamethrowers.
If I want a new rifle I don't go out hunting tusken, I go to a weaponsmith. Would it be too much to ask for devs to improve our weapons and make the current loot drops components instead of weapons? Coupled with a general improvement in our elite weapons this would be an aid to the player run economy.
(and it might stop people coming here asking how much their 7-133 dmg NS lance is worth)
