Thread: No Math, Just Time Invested

I have no interest in math. However, I have been a pikeman sice the beginning, and here are a few things I have noticed. All of these observations are based on a Master Pikeman, normal LVA, no armor, no buffs (of any kind). I have spent hours and hours at the Tusken fort, and know the ins and outs of Tusken combat.
As a flame 4 commando (no other commando), I can easily take a Tusken Warlord, Chief or Captain.
As a M-Pikeman, its likely I will end up in the clone.
As a 4,0,0,3 TKA, I can take a Tusken Warlord, Chief or Captain. Although, it was easier when I had dizzy.

As a 2,0,0,0 Rifleman, It takes a long time to kill a Tusken Warlord, Chief or Captain, but I get a long time to do it, as they miss me 4 out of 5 shots.
Of these professions, I can spam specials as long as I like, with almost no ill effects. The same can't be said about Pikeman. All my weapons are normal, no wicked cool special features. What is boils down to, is the other professions allow me to avoid taking damage. Without damage you can fight for a long time. On lower Tuskens, Pikeman is fine on auto. On higher levels, the damage output is too low compared to damage input.
Nothing mind bending, just interesting that I can do so well with these other professions, while not even being close to master.
I have some questions/input on your 2000 Rifleman example. I highly doubt that unbuffed, unarmored, you would kill the high-level tuskens at that level of rifleman, did you do this awhile ago? The reason I ask is there used to be a bug that made it harder for a melee to hit a rifleman, whereas now it's almost a guaranteed hit. And if the tuskens are shooting instead of using melee, you do not have great ranged defense at 2000 so I highly doubt they'd miss you 4 out of 5 shots.
At this level in riflesyou will get some accuracy and headshot 3. HAM costs for using headshot2 or 3 will be very high, especially if you are using a T-21, so there's no way you could spam specials unless you took some food or spice, which I consider a buff. You have very poor speed bonuses, so even if you were on brandy/muon spamming headshot 3, you'd be firing pretty slow. Plenty of time for the tuskens to take out your unarmored/unbuffed HAM.
Now, maybe if you said a 0100 rifleman, in which case they could be using conceal shot, they'd have a little better chance at killing them unbuffed, but I don't think your case would survive.
Here is the lowdown on Chiracs Official Tusken Slaying with a rifle.
Not for the easily bored. I did say it takes a long time, especially with the Warlords. It involves running around, and hiding. I usually have a -50 accuracy while in the fort, since it is so confining, so running makes no difference. Perhaps the latest patch bent the sites on the Tuskens, but one-on-on ranged, they rarely hit me. Now, a qualifier, on occasion a Tusken can one shot incapp me. I dont spam the mind hit, as that takes me down too fast, but overcharge2 does decent damage (1k range). Sadly all the shots are slow like paint drying. So, run, duck around corners, go in and out of range and eventually you can wear them down. Another technique is running in and out of their melee/ranged border. Making them flip back and forth between weapons. It works even better if you flame em first, but not mandatory. Normally I'm not patient enough to just wear them down with the rifle soI Flame2 them a few times, then finish with the rifle.
It is by no means a guarantee or foolproof, but it can be done. My comparison was, that if I had the pike out, and went toe-to-toe with a high end tusken, I would lose. A vibro lance would not help matters.
I hope i didn't give the illusion that I was dropping warlords left and right with the rifle. I'm not. I can kill one, but it takes time. (I do use a rifle powerup, 32% speed, i belive). I do enjoy shooting them in the head however, if someone else is taking the pain.
