I believe the cap on doge, counterattack, block, ranged and melee defense are all capped at 125. Speed and accuracy are only capped at the attachment cap which is +25, in addition to what you have from profession mods. I think for the most part, all of this is true.

Yep, this is mostly correct. The cap from profession skills is 125, but you can get the additional bonuses through other means. So if you have +25 dodge in armor attachments your dodge would then be 150, then you could add in the bonuses from food, etc. to get it even higher. Same with ranged/melee.

At least that is what I've heard, I believe a dev posted something to that effect somewhere. I haven't done any extensive testing on it though.

No you are wrong a bit....dodge, counterattack, block, melee defense and ranged defense all cap at 125 even when using SEA's.......chef foodis the only thing that can give you an increase over this limit. So if you have 125 dodge and have +25 in Dodge Sea's in your armor, you don't get 150 Dodge, you get 125 Dodge....that's it.....then any defensive food buffs will give you a bonus above the cap...although i can't remember what the food is that gives you the extra dodge.....

Thanks, I wasn't sure on it. Seems kind of weird though that they let food bonuses apply and not SEA's. Also, I think the squad leader skill is separate that will also apply above the 125 cap for ranged/melee defense.

You are slightly wrong also, the chef's food for dodge gives a % chance of dodging an attack. I do not know if the calculations are done seperately, i.e. your inherent dodge chance is calc'ed, then the food dodge etc. When i take air cake 33% dodge chance, I dont see in my skill mods i have 33 dodge..

You won't visible see any bonus to your skill mods when using foods unless it applies a specific number to the skill...i.e. 25 to dodge....even then I don't think food buffs show in your list of skills because they are temporary. IF I remember correctly the food that gives you a bonus to melee defense is not a percentage but adds a specific number to what you already have(part of the reason why you can't eat more than 1 at a time of these types)....if you have 125 and the food gives you +15, then it applies as 140 but you don't see the +15 added to the number in your skill list......again, I'm not 100% sure that it shows in your list, as I was told this and did not look myself....it really doesn't matter if it shows up anyway, because the skill list doesn't work properly....it should never show that you have more than a +25 bonus at anytime even from SEA's or if you acquired the extra from professions.

I forgot that dodge and some other defense foods work as percentages.....but the whole point is no matter what the food does, it works in addition to what you already have in a given area. SEA's and BE clothing count towards the cap....food and yes the squad leader bonuses stack after the cap.

The block enhancing food (drink, technically) is Vayerbok. Non-BE it maxes at about +12 directly added to your block mod, with BE enhancements it can get up to +25. Vegeparsine (the melee defense bonus) works the same way, and at the same basic bonuses.

The "dodge enhancing" foods don't actually have anything to do with the dodge mod that fencers and pistoleers have. If I remember correctly it's a modification to your to-hit chance. If you eat 20% effective air cake you should be hit 20% less, not dodge 20% more.
