Thread: a new idea on buying looted pikes

now i've been going around trying to up my collection of looted pikes. And i noticed that the prices of them are steadily rising. A lance that would have sold for 300k a couple weeks ago is now up for 700k. I see people charging obscene amounts of money for lances that arent even that good. I also see pikeman buying lances that are quite good, but they buy them for a sum of money like 8 million credits. I mean c'mon guys. 8 million credits for a weapon? i say we refuse to pay 8 million for a pike and people will have to lower their prices. course the loaded pikemen out there probably dont care so its a probably a stupid idea anyway..........................

The problem with this is there will be 2-3 people on each server that will buy everything up with little to no competition

Actually I got into a bidding war over a mind fire pike which finally went for 12.1m (lot 1):

After deciding 12.1m was a little rich for me I managed to pick up this for 4.4m through a buyout, plus I got a discount because the seller was a guildmate

I think this is the extreme as far as auctioning dot weapons goes though. On the other hand you can pick up good dot weapons for hardly anything. A guildmate of mine was searching the bazzar for DOT weapons and picked up several mind poison and mind fire weapons which normally would have fetched 100k+ in auctions for peanuts, and I've picked up nice DOT weapons for good prices oddly enough on random vendors.

yea on scylla the problem we have is that alot of the pikes belong to one guy and he doesnt buy them any more (for now) because he has an alt htats a master armorsmith
that was then now about 3 people with alot of creds are bidding them way out of range for us people with lives

If we stop trying to buy all the pikes, the stang FotM-super-rich people will still buy them all. We're such a small part of the economy that most people could care less what we think.

3hr buff + improved job market on dantooine + hunting 32k mokk missiosn = 1mill + with little effort
go make money can you can buy them to. dot lances are the only reason Pike is good in pvp. that is why people (me included)pay so much
