Thread: Secondary Profession?
Just set your title to something other than image designer. If you set your title to novice marksman or novice brawler you probably won't get many, if any, tells.
Or you could say sure - if you help me get a level in pistol first... ![]()

Set yourself anonymous and change your title while hunting. Even with a title change, the find feature will still display you if searched for by profession (not title.) On the other hand, if you're anonymous, no problems—at least as long as they don't already know you by name. I guess you could also set up an AFK message saying something like "I'm sorry, but I'm currently unavailable for image design work. Please send me an email and I'll get back to you once I'm done in the field." or something like that. Anyway, I think a combat secondary is just fine for an image designer—personally, I'm shooting for Master Image Designer/Master Tailor/Trickshot…let me tell you, those pistol skills really come in handy when I'm not paying attention and walk right through a highwayman camp ![]()
I have it stated in my bio that if I am not wearing my master ID title, I am not currently doing image design. As for other professions, I have master ID and master dancer, and a handful of pistoleer. I am right now getting master entertainer, just to add to my list of mastered professions, because all I needed was the musician tree. After I get that, I will drop musician again and start dropping dancer to get Teras Kasi Master. It's my holocron profession, but I'm frankly looking forward to it. It's a seriously uber combat profession, and I will be excited to be of use to my guild in PvP again. LOL
Something that goes very well with being an image designer - doctor. It's TONS of fun to do, you can make decent money doing buffs, and being able to revive is a highly prized skill, especially if you're factioned and do PvP at all. I would eventually like to master doctor, but it sucks up SO many skill points... I don't know if I could. But getting the two middle bars get you uber buffs and let you revive people. It's fun.
If you prefer a ranged combat class, I'd stick to pistoleer. Carbine is best when it's paired with the carbine tree of bounty hunter, and rifleman is only SERIOUSLY great at master. Then again, if it's your plan to master a combat profession, you might consider trying rifleman. They're a seriously hurty profession at master, and they have a ranged deathblow, which is just awesome. Pistoleer is best if you plan to dabble.
To me though, Doc is really boring to get through. I am just now returning after a 5 month hiatis (sp?) and it seems like nobody needs wounds healed. Since everyone is fighting with buffs and high-end armor, it is rare to see people with wounds.
I miss Ranger, my very first master profession.
