I need some advice from you - I'm going to starta new pikeman today.

What species would you select, why?

I am going to start as a scout and pick up brawler - is this what you would recommend?

What servers are you on so I can find some friends?!!

Thanks!!

Well, I'm a Twi'lek, but I'd recommend Zabraks for their Equilibrium ability. No race has any advantage in Polearms though, so just go with what you want. Make sure you have high Health and Strength though.

I'm on the Eclipse server (Rori). I am also working on Bio-Engineer so I am also a Scout (and a Medic).

Im a master polearm, Zabrak. My brother who is also master polearm is also a zabrak and we do just fine..Having high willpower allows you to keep your action and health bars higher.

Well my polearm user is a human, pretty average in everything so that is cool with me.

Well, I decided to go Zabrak - mostly because I felt it represented the character I wanted to play. So I think that was the right choice.

I am on Bria - looked like the best bet for me. Hopefully I'll see you all in the game!

OK, so, now that I'm in the game - I need some newb questions answered -

As I'm using my pole, I get the message, something like, "You can't use the weapon .. blah blah ... you will receive a penalty" and the pole only does like 10-12 damage. I'm getting hammered, but I keep killing little itty-bitty things trying to get some XP. It also seems to accrue XP a lot slower than everything else. Is this similar to your experiences?

Thanks for all the help -

You should spend 50 creds and get a wood staff... you'll hit for a LOT harder until you grow up and can use that one, plus you won't wear out a better weapon.

Well when i get my new RAM, I'm making a char on Wanderhome with my PA. I am going to be Human for the Leadership bonus because i am going to be a master Squad Leader, and that Humans are a good all around Race. I am either going to be a master pikeman, or rifleman (depending which i find more useful), and Master Squad Leader

Also, will power doesn't effect your Health or Action bars. It determintes how quickly you regen your Mind. Which you don't particularly need a lot of.

I chose Wookie as my race because they get the most robust stat set (they get 1600 more points, the closest is the trandoshan with 1200...) and I had no idea what I wanted my character to be.

My advice in this game is to not base your race around your profession, but around your own personal opinion. You get one character, and you're goina have him/her for a LONG time (this is not a do-everything-in-a-month game) so pick a race you won't mind having around for awhile. Don't worry about uber statistics, cuz you can always change these around, and the skill bonuses, once you have spent all 250 of your skill points, don't really mean a whole lot in my opinion.

I Quote: "You will likely not see many (if any) Jedi in game for a long time (likely months). We're not kidding. Jedi are rare in this time period (between A New Hope and The Empire Strikes Back). Becoming a Jedi and surviving as a Jedi is very very very very difficult (and rewarding) in Star Wars Galaxies: An Empire Divided."
