Thread: BLOCK=wounds and BF

I have been Master Swordsman and also TKM in the past.


recently started playing again and decided to do what I always wanted no matter what....Pike.


Because our defense is block we still take have damage. I also think that is why(at least me) get a lot more wounds and battle Fatigue than I used to. Also armor is becoming mor of a concern as it s taking more damage than before.


Anyone else notice this too? I am constantly coming home after a buff session with 300-400 BF. When I was TKM is was less than 100 and about low 100's when Swordsman.


Can a DEV explain this? Is it normal? If so, it should be looked at IMO.

Yes, block sucks, we all know it. You get BF when you get damaged/wounded. The more you block instead of dodge, the more BF you get.

Not only block, but also the lower toughness, lower melee defense. This means you get hit more often, and when you do get hit, it's for more damage. All working as intended. But we'll see after the combat balances...

We had three people die because their chest plates decayed from brand new in the DWB. There is not time limit down there, only how long your buffs and chest plates can last.

So you'll cap block and increase your melee defense (which any serious pikeman melee'er would try to do) but block will still allow 50% damage through and you can't increase your toughness (outside of the +5 from master brawler). Rifle is always a good choice for pve/pvp, though.

you seem to be mising the thread point no offense." Block=wounds and BF." I am also Rifleman. I block all the time.


With reguards to the DWB, I am bringing 2 breast plates next time. I was lucky to have it repaired.

Yes it does suck. It also equals more decay and more state attacks as when you Dodge an attack state attacks (dizzy/kd/stun/etc) just miss instead of still getting a chance to apply to you. It's not going to change either because our genius Developer Dave 'Keldarin' White says it's 'working as intended' and that brainiac is the Developer in charge of the Combat Revamp. So he's clueless and he's holding the keys to the speeder too.

I am breaking my own records here! 748 Battle Fatigue in a 2.5 hr buff session last night with my Pikeman/Rifleman! Did the same thing with my Swordsman/Rifleman and came back with 176 BF. But hey "It's working as intended"

That is why I never use CoB. I don't want to "block" more.

Then you take 100% damage on the ones that could have been blocked for 50%. You get BF and wounds either way.Block is a secondary defense after melee/ranged defenses are taken into account.
