Hey all,
I'm trying to grind through pikeman as fast as possible. Right now, I'm a 0/1/1/2 pikeman, and would like to master it within a few days.
I was curious about the most efficient thing to attack. So far i've been doing the standard quenkers on Dantooine (the higher version ones), but that brings in about 3900 XP per shot about. I've also done some giant baz nitches, at around 4100 XP per one.
Bazes are much harder than the quenker counterparts. The thing I'm looking for is a nice...isolated areaish area to grind out this as fast as possible. So far my area attacks are less than desired so I try to avoid large groups when attacking.
Is there a certain MOB that may be the best to go after? I would like to spend s little time as possible working on this profession, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Oh, one thing I forgot to note. I did read the post at the top about leveling help, and have been doing the 'quenker method'. I'm tempted to try the gurreck method, but I may need to have my doc with me so I don't end up dead.
as you can tell from the pic, I am a wookie..armor is shot, but still provides protection. Buffed all the time.

The absolute best thing to do is find a group of bases (rebe or imp depending what side you are) and just get a whole crap load of them and area attack them. SO MUCH XP if the spawn rates are high.

I'm doing the Gurk method and leveling fast. 40k xp per lair. The only problem I'm having is a minor one. Those Gurks really pack on the battle fatigue. But it's not a big deal, I just have my alt who is a Master Doc/Entertainer ready in a local cantina for healing. I should be make master in the next day or so using this method.

I ground it with Gurrecks, with a decent 500+ Max Dmg lance it works pretty well, and surprisingly fast.
Also works with Wild Boar Wolves, also found on Endor.

I hunt on Dantooine as well. I tried many of the different critters there and I found the best ones to level on have been huurton huntresses. To do it you must use spin. I have a fast 2.3 axe that I use with normal damage (375 top end) and used spin1 until i got spin 2. at mission terminals they are between 7k-7.5k payouts so do not expect to get rich doing them.
they do seem to lay out the battle fatigue and your breastplate getting destroyed is the same that happened to me. They gave the same xp or better than Quenkers, Pickets, lower voritors, higher bols, mokks, and jantas. Basically I got a droid (any droid or pet will do) and call it at the mission terminal and have it join my group (I solo grind). then tell it to stay and you get the xp bonus for it being in the group.
I get 4500xp per kill and they are easy kills. I did have an advantage of having Master Rifleman so my defenses were good and my block was high. Now I block ALOT and rarely ever get posture changed against any critters. I leveled as follows.
0/0/4/x = day 1 (spin 1)
3/0/4/x= day 2 (spin 1) [less playtime that day]
4/3/4/x= day 3 (spin 2)
Had i been able to play my normal session on day 2 I would have mastered on day 3. Spin2 makes a big difference in the speed of the killing. it probably takes me longer to travel and get the missions than it does to destroy the lairs and minions.
Bottom line, go get another breastplate above and beyond anything else. if you are just grinding it out, I strongly suggest huurton huntress missions because they are very easy to kill and afford the same xp as the harder critters.

I'm a 1/1/1/2 pikeman. My axe, as I promised to post is:
Long Vibro Axe
162-564, speed 4.7
will this be O.K. to use during spin attacks? doesn't seem to be the strongest when attacking. Maybe I should get it sliced and pray for a speed slice

It's best to find a sub 3.0 speed sliced lance, I used a 2.1 60-220 (looted) vibrolance to grind on Hourton huntress on Dantooine to go up the stances tree first then go up the defenses tree next (the last tree is automatic with combat xp). Once you hit master stances, you should be able to use a 3.2-3.8 speed LVA and handle Jantas and Mokks (assuming you have good armor and buffs) then area stun and spin1 like crazy.

Thanks for the help so far.
I've tried the gurreck method yesterday, and ran into a lot of problems. The largest problem was the fact that my chestplate is toast, and now doesn't protect at all.
The gurk I haven't tried yet.
One issue I am having, I am a 1/1/1/2 pikeman. My area attacks are incredibly slow and don't do much damage. Is there an attack I should try to level up to prior to going against stuff for area attacks?
Tomorrow morning, when I log on, I'll go ahead and post my lance stats
Thanks for any more help people can give.

I'm levelling fencer at the mo and am going to to the same method with Pikes once i start. Arachne's on Endor were giving me 5k xp and about 450 combat xp per kill. Some wild spawns were spawning 15 critters per lair. Its the poison that will get ya tho so bring a doc. Arachne Queens are HUGE tho.

Its THE best way to do it....3000ish xp per and I can get about 30 sts on me....and they respawn quick
