I read throught FAQ's and I didn't spot anything on levelling Pikeman.
I know as with all Combat Professions you do the speed tree first but what are everyone's opinions on the weapon? What kind of slices am I looking for? What stats are good on a pike? I'm new to Pikeman. My main is Fencer and I want my alt to be a Pikeman.

speed and accuracy, buffs, mind buffs ( not hard 2 get) double shot of brandy, full armor- ubese recommended...... get the speed tree (stances) then i went up to area attack 2, then finish it. 
speed sliced ,I used LVa even one with 3.3 speed, compared to a 2.9 VL did more DPS
oh yeh, i did 11k hurrton missions, seemed easier to me, i think that pikets intimidate/ stun one of those which lowers damage output and you dont want that..................

Q5: What is the best progression to follow when levelling Pikeman?
A5: This post should help you out with that info.Generally, the best way to go is speed first:
000x -> 400x -> 404x -> 444x -> 4444

also do a search on the boards on leveling and XP...
There are post that give a lot of good ideas for you to go out and get some good amounts of xp...

My questions are more Pikeman oriented. I know where to level and how (food, armour, buffs) but what is a good weapon to use to level? When I won the GF6Q I got an exceptional LVA. Don't remember the stats exactly but accuracy was -24 on all.
Here is what I got.
VL (Exceptional)
4.4 speed
161-593
-24
Nightsister Lance
4.6 speed
12-261
+7
Health Disease
40/1200s/70%
Action Poison
138/190s/25%
Both are sliced

Quenkers work. I'm leveling at Fort Tusken and the Squill Cave though. Lots more targets, a whole lot more fun, probably faster since there's no running back and forth to the invariably-laggy mining outpost.
My weapons-
LVA:
503-max damage, 4.4 speed
Vibrolance:
297-max damage, 3.9 speed
Currently up to 2/1/3/4

I Like doing gurk missions on lok for pikeman. Can do them with or without a solo group I believe. They have relativly low kinetic resist and are vunerable to electricity. Just hit the lair with some area attacks and you'll be master in no time.
