With a 4.5 speed weapon you will cap at +91
With a 2.5 speed weapon you will cap at +84
Here is a link to a guide on speed calcs:

Here is my question for the day. With the new patches coming out and the possibilty of force sensitive pike, is there really any necesity to going out and spending har earned credits on speed tapes. I have about +10 so far and have spent some good money on them. It will really irritate me if in a month or 2 they become useless. Is this a posibility or should i keep buying to reach my cap

I would say yes to both.
Yes its a real possibility.
and
Yes you should continue to reach your cap in the meantime.
There is NOTHING else like it. =)
2 Months of that kind of fun is worth it. Trust me.

Hi there, All -
I'm new to the Swordsman profession, having just completed Novice Swordsman. I have mastered Commando, TK, Creature Handler, Ranger, Smuggler, Medic, Marksman, Scout and Doctor. And, I have to admit that I don't really understand speed capping. I want to be an effective Swordsman (I don't do any PvP, PvE only) and have decided that I need to understand speed.
How do you achieve Speed Capping? Is it stacking skills or attachments or both???
Thanks for your help!
