Regarding PvE:

I have to admit, I am seriously thinking about changing combat professions at this point. Levelling my polearm skills was drastically slow before I got a knockdown, and even with a knockdown it was painful. Yes, I could solo reds with the knockdown. But it's not like it was a sure thing, and it's not like I didn't still have to be *very* careful, especially with groups of aggros.

My poleArmSweep1 often missed, or when it did hit I often didn't get the knockdown, and half the time when doing it to NPC's they'd turn around on the ground and slide 15m away for no good reason I could see, allowing them to kite me even when they were knocked down.

Also, I could solo *one* red. Not 6, which is what I usually ended up with on Endor or when fighting Wrixes on Corellia. Unless my pull was very successful (usually about a 50% chance of sucessfully pulling one creature, and even then I took lots of damage doing it) I would end up getting incapped or killed anyways.

But without knockdown, I'm essentially a huge gimp. I can't kite anything, I can consistently BE kited by any NPC with a gun, and I won't be able to kill anything that isn't white-con, and even then I'll have a lot of downtime in between battles, and have to watch out for aggros. I realize the devs' intent with the con system; but to compensate for the new difficulty level, they should raise experience rewards.

Can anybody at this point give me hope for this profession, or a reason to stick with it, besides RP reasons, which was the main reason I ended up here in the first place?

(sigh)

I wish I could provide you with some upbuilding encouragement, but after reading today's updates and reading your post I feel nothing but a heavy shroud over my heart. This is a sad day for our already gimped profession and melee class as a whole, I just don't know where I'll go from here.

(maybe I'll go play some ball or something, people still do that right?)
