Hello again Fellow Pikeman
I never thought I'd Post so much, becuase I'm just not a Posting Type.But I feel for once My InputVoice/Vote is desperatly needed.I am very impressed with alot of the Pikemans' knowledge of the inner workings of the Class, it Fascinates Me to read thrrough these posts and observe the Knowledge displayed by You.
Anyway I amonce again extremely disappointed with the Update.SilverSurfer You do a good Job and I cannot criticize You what-so-ever because I, in Your position would Fail the Pikeman Community horribly.However KD isa very bigissue, it is the one and only thing that allows Us to solo moderataly tough Creatures and NPC's. I have found the HAM costs, battle improvements and the wholeUpdate are irrelevant at this point if You can't survive long enough to reap the benefits or for that matter just form an opinion because You cannot survive long enough to notice them.Ialso find it pretty unproductive if You can only submitone post and wait for a response.I believe most People as a whole are totally patient and very understanding to Bugs, Flaws Patches and anything else outside of the Norm.However when the Company steps in and sets up a situation that takes away Everyones enjoyment of the Class, They (Sony) need to be promptly informed and as a Service provider to a product, should post an explanation or stance as to what's going on.I Myself find it frustrating waiting on a response thats zapped My enjoyment from a game that I purchased and service I'm paying for.
I understood from a Friend that one of the reasons for this Ludicrous penalty is because of PvP.I am not generally a PVp'r and couldn't care less what rules are forced upon PvP to make it Fair. I am not in the business of Balancing PvP but I know that PvE was not Broke and outside of a tweak, didn't need to be fixed.I Myself spent alot of Credits and time in the beginning taking a beating losing armor and watching Friends with there cool blasters set back and enjoy trhe benefits of Me taking a Up close and personal beating.Even now in a group We suffer the Armor hits and use the Most MedPacks.We are the one's Incapped and D/Bd to watch our Friends and Allies Truimph over the Beast that We tanked.Am I upset, Dag Skippy, KD was all I had, to make Myself a force in PvE, and It's gone after Ive worked a few Months on it.I've noticed the Groups leave without Me now with no Problem, because Im just a Pitiful PikeMan.
Anyway I will not quit SWG, because I really enjoy it,and I will try My best to hang on to Pikeman Untill SOE tells Us to suck it up, there's going to be no changes.After that I will switch classes.But I hope Someone wakes up and sees the Customers aren't happy.Another thing.SilverSurfer maybe for Your next response You should use it to tell SOE if They want a Corospondant, let You be one, not a low voice go-between Flunky.I believe if They wanted someone to Voice Our opinion, the Emails would be open a few times a week to You.Anyway if They wanna tweak PvP do it, make it fair so Everyones happy.But PvE needs to be looked at.Well Folks sorry for rambling, Thanks ....Quanti Dethinurhye StarSider
i concur with everything everyone has said so far, silversurfer to me you have been a great correspondent but this kd issue and your stance on it is also beyond belief, you may not use kd as much but it is quite obvious most pikeman do cause it is our bread and butter move, as someone else stated we are crowd control, we aggro creatures and npc's and take massive hits then control them so the ranged users can pick them off one at a time. now this ability has been taken away. i am 0-0-3-1 and went straight to the defensive tree after asking my fellow pikeman which tree i should start with once i hit novice pikeman, and i am glad i asked them becuase it is the best move we have period!! once i got sweep 1 i was finally able to take on bigger game and creatures, now i was actually helpful in group on lok and danthomir and higher lvl places cause i was able to take the dmg but still survive and keep the monsters off the ranged players, people saw pikeman and they said kewl.. we have a kickass melee chcracter with our group. now we are the laughing stock of the community, we cant solo blue cons much less yellow or higher, we use tons and tons of stimpacks cause we have no way to defend ourselves and yes you say its ok cause it doesnt affect you. as correspondent your needs arent the issue its the players as a whole that should matter and that's the voice that should be sent to them , not your obviously biased opinion about it.
i think you have done a great job up till now, and this shift in what you write and think about pikeman totally baffles me. i am hoping you will send our concerns to soe and not what affects you cause if not you will not have any players to correspond for, we are already a rare profession pls dont make us extinct by having this attitude about this kd nerf that has affected us, and by the way many other ranged players as well.
You know, I just thought about something, the initiator of this post is right. They have implemented a change in this game that has totally robed the joy from many of us in this game. I'm actually having more fun reading gripes on these post than I would be if I was playing right now, (hence me writing this post).
You would think that with the huge uproar this has created that the Devs, someone.....anyone would get a statement out to their customers that would either provided detailed information eplaining why the felt this would be the best thing to do for us (and if ther is a bigger picture that we are missing, help us to see it) or at the very least tell us that our concerns are noted, and being addressed.
For this service that we are paying for is that too much to ask? Just a little feedback? I know people personally who haven't even taken the time to gripe about it, they've just realized that the game is not as fun and have gone off to doing other things cuz it seems that these changes were thrown into the mix and that no one cares. I ask them where have they been and they respond quizically "Mmmmm, oh yeah, I haven't played that game in a while, they've just made it so that it really isn't fun anymore."
If there is anything I have learned in all of my business dealings it is that lack of Customer service and attention will severely hurt your business, no matter what said business is.
hehe, I am both glad, and saddened that I kinda sparked all of this chatter about kd. I am glad that I finally get to hear everyone's oppinion on the matter, and I can easily gauge what people feel. However, I am saddened that my job has become harder with all the posts lately...
Haha, jk, I love it when you guys post about opposing sides of the fence on an issue, though you guys are all predominatly on the anti-kd timer side. If I get another message after they respond to the last one, this is definetly going to be the top priority. That is unless they change it before they respond / I write another letter, or I am no longer the correspondent as I have asked to step down from the role. In that case, it is up to you all to spam messages to the correspondent to get stuff done. hehe, jk don't spam him, but keep up the good posts, and don't attack him until a few months in, when I started this job, I was very frustrated, and had practically no idea on what to do, with no support from SOE, and none from my head, haha.
