Thread: What armor is best for pikeman?
There are about a billion schools of thought on this subject.
Advanced Ubese can have 80% kinetic resists. Thats pretty awesome, provided you are not getting shot at the same time. It happens.
Composite can also have 80% kinetic, and a whole pile of other resists. It takes a lot of juice to wear it.
Some say gloves are mandatory, and take a lot of the damage. Others say arm armor is critical for melee players. If you have nothing better to do than watch combat spam and do math...then you can decide.
Personally I wear boots, helmet, and chest. Advanced Ubese when I can find it (hard right now), good HAM composite the rest of the time. Ocassionaly a right bracer, just for the heck of it. Sadly, due to a bug, half of my cool red comp, is now grey. Comp is probably a better choice if you PvP, to keep the spam out of your eyes. A few hotkeys to change armor is also handy.
An armored, buffed pikeman is a killing machine. You decide how best to get there. I recently had to give up all med skills. Wow, does that suck. Fighting with no stims or buffs can be quite quick.
biwan: MohrIf you are fully buffed you don't need armor. Your toughness mods (low as they are) are enough since you are buffed.
If you still need to use it, used advanced ubese since it has lower encumberance and higher melee kinetic resists.

I have a full suit of multi-layered composite.
Base 61% across the board
77% Heat/Electricity
I'm getting serious damage still to my mind pool. I always play fully Master Doctor buffed, and my mind is migrated fully to 1075/450/450.
I'm seeing people mention Ubese is a better armor to wear as a tanking melee guy.
What is the best armor for a novice pikeman to wear as I'm leveling up??
