So I'm standing in front of the starport with a pikeman friend, when 10m away some wookiee starts to yell out "I need someone to teach polearms 4". Now being the born comic that I am *cough*, I feel compelled to help the lad out by also yelling "Is there anyone here who knows polarms 4", hoping this guy will get the hint. He doesn't of course and again asks for polearm 4, 10m away from us. At this point I send him a tell that says "Maybe the 2 pikeman in front of the starport might know it". I wait 5 seconds for the guy to turn around and I get a reply ..

"You're a real smart ass you know that?"

I laugh at the joke and reply "That I am indeed " and then go over to offer to train him. At which point he refuses my offer to train him and sends me back a reply that simply says..

"Consider me humorless", end of conversation.

Now I play the game to have fun and part of having fun, is having fun at others expense. It would not have been in my nature to just go ahead and train the guy who can't look 10m beside him to see 2 pikeman standing right there. So I thought I would have a little fun.

So my question is this ... having read the account of what happened, am I being funny or just being an a$$hole. Please let me know.

That guy sucks.I deal with people like that every day.

Sounds like the guy was having a really bad day. I do that stuff all the time, it's a game =)

Maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe he can't take a joke, but there's no fault on you. Heck, I think it was pretty funny, and I couldnt find anyone to train me all night :-p

Obviously this is a guy grinding out pikeman because his Holo told him too and he has NO IDEA about the profession, titles etc and has no intention of staying.

You were not being a smart alek. This guy was just being a doofus with his "I'll take my need for training to some other TRAINING ALL SKILLS PST holo grinder so there" attitude.

I think that's hilarious. If I was there to see it I woulda been crying, maybe he was just really shy, or even overawed and did not want to interrupt 2 skilled pikemen for fear of being slapped across the knuckles.

Lol, I talked to dynastar right after my holocron said pikeman. He said I will need a good sense of humor, too.

that reminds me of my situation (sorry for spelling i dont use english everyday)
It was when I was new to the game .I needed stims and i was in cantina , i see doctor(HELPER) and send him tell if hi has stims for sale, hi says hi has some (but not for sale) .I ask him if hi would help me,hi say hi dosnt know the going price ,i told him the going rate hi sed hi will sell for thet much and i beeng short on money ofered less then going price(hoping that the HELPER would help) . Hi called it insolting and got very mad at me. So am i beeng rude?

No fault on you Legwand. Sounds like that guy tripped over himself, and landed on the wrong end of his LVA. I probably wouldn't have even said anything, but rather would have walked over and started using the /pointat command towards the two pikeman until he got the point.
