Thread: A big duh about the high miss rate...
I was over in the Squad Leader forum haveing a gander (thanks to my newly acquired holo
), and I came across a post that made me go... "Ohhhhh yeah!"
Squad leader /rally improves your miss rate MAJORLY. Soooo, while grinding your pike exp away, it might be a great idea to find oen of those big nightsister or rancer raids that have a squad leader.
Anyway, this may be obvious for some others, but I thought I'd share.

Braglor: "Hunting party still forming, looking for a squad leader!"
Squad Leaders are about as rare as Chefs, aside from people grinding their holocrons (then again anybody playing any profession they want to is rare nowadays).
In any case, from my experiences as a Squad Leader (when I actually wanted to play that horriffic class) and from friends going through their holocrons, Rally is a huge waste of mind pool for the SL. It has the failure rate of a brawler's berserk, only lasts about 60 seconds, costs 200 mind, and really doesn't provide any significant improvement.
It was a nice thought, however its just not a valid option.
Actually.... I'm having to lose my pike skills to "try out" squad leader. The sooner it's done with, the sooner I can get them back. So, if anyone is looking for a squad leader on Starsider, let me know.
Misterie
Group of the Damned
Ingredients:
(1) Squad Leader
(6+) Pikeman
(6+) Droid Engineers (OPTIONAL) w/ probots
Directions:
Group Pikemen with Squad Leader. Call probots, group with Squad Leader. Head to Dantooine, find Kunga's. Equip Long Vibro Axe. Attack. Meal will be done in about 2 minutes. For quicker results, serve with Nightsister's instead of Kunga's.
Actually, I tested my skills.... /rally and /formup were a big help against Krayt's last night :-)
LMAO dynastar....
SL has great def mods too, the rally or whatever it is helps alot. I'm guilded with a SL and it is a great benifit, but you really don't see too many around, I wouldn't be surprized if the there were less SL's than Pike after the Holo giveaway.
I'd say the numebrs are slightly higher on average, definitely. The holo-pikemen are pikemen in flux. They come, they leave. A few have stayed for longer than they expected because they enjoy it, and some have become pikemen without the holocron due to the extra advertisement gained by the boosted population. If I were to take a guess, I'd say the average pike population in-game currently has raised by about 40% to about 0.35%. Maybe not even the last place anymore, maybe.

I meant 40% of the non-holo pikemen. I should have been more clear on that. If you count holo-pikemen real-time, I'd say 100% is a ghood estimate.
