After running test, at master level there is no reason for a pikeman with a melee defense over 70 to even hit center of beeing. The problem lies within block. When you block you absorb 50% of the dmg so when you are CoB as a master pikeman you start blocking 90% of the time even if the mob would fully miss you instead. So basically you keep taking damage, 50% of it all the time and without doc buff it is more efficient to just without it than use it and die.

Block NEEDS to be fixed OR changed if its nota bug. This is totally stupid that can't use cob because we will kill ourselfs. That + the stupid as hell ham cost (190 points with no buff **edit**?) that force you to either consume expensive sunburn OR get doc buff ( expensive too for that matter) is stupid. What other class is forced to use buffs to be remotedly efficient ?

I m waiting for the patch that should reduce our ham cost ( the january publish) because if the ham problems actually get fixed, pikeman will be a fairly balanced class ( xept the fact our defense is the weakest of all melee).

This is one of the things I'm trying to get the devs to fix for us.

This has been a thorn in our side since the November publish. We've gotten no word on what is "working as intended" or not, and Gunman (as he said) is working to find out what's going on. If it's "working as intended", we had better see some good reasons why they're giving us the one active defense that allows damage when we already have low defenses. I cannot think of any possible good reason for that.
