Thread: Had a thought about Darth Maul

In SWG terms, forgetting force skills, would Darth Maul be a Master Pikeman, Master Teras Kasi, Master Fencer? He's obviously got a preference for polearms, but had no problemsswitching overto his single-bladed saber when hehad to. Plus, he was constantly mixing in his unarmed attacks to liven things up a bit, and in game terms, you could stick dizzy, stun, and blind all on a foe with TKA easily. Pike for damage output and area attacks, and Fencer for defense mods and speed.

Sounds pretty good, anybody have any thoughts?

From what I've read about Maul - He was, in game terms, TKM - Dark Jedi Master - all Melee Professions.

So - in game terms - his template would be impossible.

He was also a Sith Lord...which is also impossible in this game

Teras Kasi Master.

Thats it. Forgetting force powers of course.

The double-bladed saber is not a polearm weapon. Even without the 'force' ability to use it, its more of a two-handed sword than a polearm.

in-game it's definately a polearm, because the moves done in-game (and in any martial art really) with a two-handed sword would be simply impossible if you stuck a blade on the other end, you'd cut your own genitalia off half the time. It's not exactly a staff either, because you fight with a staff one time with your hands in the middle, another time with your hands on the end. But it's definately a pikeman weapon

I don't think his weapon could be considered a pole arm....it's just a hilt with weightless blades coming out each side, which would be much more different than handling something with weight through out it.....

But I'm sure darth maul could use a regular polearm anyways

Lol, he's a Ninja Pirate.

I'm not sure there'd be an advantage in building a character like that. Aside from defense stacks, you'd probably find one thing that worked best, and stick with it. No point mastering multiple melee professions... is there?

TK would give you meditation and defensive acuity (work with non-TK?), and some fat melee/ranged defense mods. Pikeman would give you the area attacks, and make you look just damn cool in the process - you wouldn't believe how many people see me fighting and say "wow, that is awesome!" (No, I don't remind them of all the 'miss' messages). Fencer gives you great defense, but I'm not personally inclined towards it, while Swordsman would give you some seriously heavy artillery and a mind-hit that would be a mind-job.

Thought a long while about building an all melee character, but A) I love some of my pets too much, and B) I'm not sure it'd be worth the effort, with defense stacking under such close scrutiny and all (and that being a primary reason for doing it).

The versatility in combat would be nice, for weapon selection, though... Kinetic (LVA), Electricity (VL), and Blast (PH) are all good to have. Few things can boast high resists to all three of those.

Miraclewhip737, Roosevelt was right about the big stick, but he also said "rule with a small voice". That voice part is a little off for pikemen, since they need to communicate about their problems

Master Bounty Hunter? Please tell me how you came up with that. (I'm not flaming, just asking a question.)
