Thread: Anyone Master Pike / Master Swords?

Well? Are ya? 
Just wondering what else
you combined with it if you
did.
I want to try pike out, but there
is no way I'm ever giving up
my Master Swords 
Master Sword
Master Pike
Master Brawler
TK 4001
Novice Medic.
FS Combat 0034
Any thoughts?
And I tried asking first in the
templates forum but got
no responce

I dont see any benefit to it personally. You will still find yourself using your PH 90% of the time. Pike isnt any good for defense stacking like say Fencer so I see it as a waste. grab master fencer instead

I am working on that right now. was Master Sword/MCH for a long time, and finally got sick of the dev-abuse (Ack... don't ban me) Decided to pick up pike so i could have 2 combat professions to max xp for FS exchange. Going for Master Sword/Master Pike/Master Brawler/Scout 4000/Novice medic.
I thought about fencer, but i see to many of them around, and i don't care about being uber, and i wouldn't get TK unless someone paid me.

Sorry should have put more
info in there
We have been having alot
of fun doing Death Watch
and Corvette raids, and I
just cry everytime I see
the Electricity resists.
Plus I love the look of the
pikes and their specials.

ok, ive done Master Pike... working on Master Dancer, but currently have 4243 ... i also have 4000 in Scout ... and Novice Medic
congrats on being able to get so much FS xp ... lol ive only got Novice Combat

know that feeling... i'm about to have enough for melee speed 1... thats after getting old mana few days after patch

I was just lucky on the FS xp...
Through my trying out different
professions I had a free unlock
right after the patch.
Plus I was capped on 2 handed,
combat, and Rifle xp. (glad I never
fired a rifle after I dropped Master
rifles )

There is no point in this bro, because most of the time you will use just one melee weapon anyway. I master sword and pike, and most of the time i use pike do to the animation and the "Ka Chin" sound. Recently i just drop sword and go for rifle. It's all depend on what you do, I think Pike/RM will be more for PvP, and Sword/RM of course is the king of PvE, just depend on what you like

The template I'm working on is very similiar to this, im gonna be master pike, master brawler, master swordsman, tk 2000, medic 2000, combat prowess 0034.
There IS a point in this template...With a good LVA you can outdamage any of the speed capped swordsman campers, then get acklay bones for your hammer. Solo elders with your acklay hammer speed capped while using the first aid skill. kick the crap outta the vette and DWB with a nice vibro lance. And in PvP stick a mind fire and headhit with a scythe. This is a great template.

lack of defences Adefo?
I'm coming from a
Master Sword / Brawler
TK 4204
Fencer 4400
Medic 0040
Template, and will be
sad to see my Fencer
Defences go away
But I'd really love the
alternate damage type.
I also asked earlier.. Is
Pikeman only good at
Master? Or can I take
2 or 3 trees and be effective?

Defenses arent that big of a deal in high end PvE. You can have capped melee/ranged defense and those elders/tusken observers/krayts/SBDs/Acklay...or anything else will hit you every single time. If they try to KD you, your gonna get KD'd. The lack of defenses only hurts in PvP, but if you got a good enough mind fire, you can stick it. Then warcry em, dizzy KD, mind hit with a scythe. If your worried about getting knocked down then all you need is one thakitillo (sp?).

My main combat toon is a MPike/MSword/MBrwlr/Medic2040.

This was exactly the kind
of information I was looking
for.
Think I'll put off the pike
experiment untill I can find
a couple of nice speed tapes.
