Let's face it Pikemen are pretty messed up, I think the class seriously needs a do-over.

My idea centers around the fact that unlike, the other elite-meleers Pike's use 3 seperate types of weopons, each used in entirely different ways. I think that this should be the class's biggest strength (Kinda like bounty hunters skill tree, if you can imagine that). 1 tree for defenses, 1 for staves, 1 for lances, 1 for Pikes. The defense tree should get the norm (i'd make Pikemen <probably should change the title> mid-rank tanks. The stave tree would have specials only usable with staves in it. The specials would be defensive, KD being a big one, and perhaps one like COB but much better. Staves should naturally be fairly fast, low damage weopons.

The lance tree would kinda be a specialty tree, as it would be used for a single powerful attack to initiate combat. I would give bonus's to burst run and gallop in this tree (shorten the refresh time<5 mins at master> and increase the speed slightly (not like terrain neg, reducing speed uphill), control both with a charge command. The rest of this tree is self explanatory,I would make lances like a pike if not charging, but change the stats to make a real pike a much better option.

The pike tree should include most the things they seem to be trying to do with the current Pikeman class, e.g. heavy AOE attack, slow - high damage, and fairly inacurate. Pikes should outdamage staves enough to make it worthwile to switch. Also in this tree and with this weopon i would make a rather large defense vs. a charge.

I think Pikemen have endured enough torment and weakness to deserve a unique and interesting class. Maybe if something of this sort were to happen, some of us TKM's might look at the other skill tree's for something other than additions to our power .

Love the sig

So it seems ALL professions have the chance of getting DOT weapons, which is fair. However, that just makes pike that much worse. I used to rely on my dots in PvP but now I get hit for the same but my accuracy is so horrible compared to other professions.

So, what makes pikeman attractive? It cant be their ability in PvP as I can only assume its horrible. So is it the love of the pike or what?

I love running in a group of like 5-7 ppl and swinging like a madman use AoE's. I have much fun with pvp .. hardly anything wrong about it. The moves are sweet so that contributes to my joy in the mayhem I can create with DoT's. Role models like Fingolfin or antares, encouraged me to be one, I looked up to Fingolfin and still wish he were around, only thing I have to honor him, is his NSEL ... its better than any NSEL on Kauri, Just Cause He owned it. hehe
