Pikeman Archive

Hello,

I have been reading your fourms for a day or two now and from I understand you guys are pretty gimed...

Anyways I just rerolled my character because I know I WANT to play a melee class. I know I don't want to be a TKA artist or a Fencer. So it is either Swordsman or Pikesmen. Is Pikeman all that bad? From what I have seen a Master Brawler/Master Swordsman is AMAZING PvE! And apparently a swordsmen is decent in PvP is used correctly.

So my question is how to Pikemen fair or are they acctually as bad as you say? Also does Block even do anything?

For the time being, you'll probably have a lot more fun as a swordsman. The negative accuracy mods on our weapons are a huge problem, and our HAM costs are among the worst in the game.

That being said, I really enjoy playing a pikeman in PvE. I do tons of damage and can generally hold my own when with a group. It's difficult to solo, however; without a doctor healing you, you're going to kill yourself with specials.

As far as block goes, we don't really know if it works. I've certainly seen myself block, but only in some very specific conditions, generally when fighting humanoid mobs. Whatever the case may be, there's no message in the combat spam about blocking, so one really can't be sure.
